It's nowhere near as good as the Hooper duo, but I think 03 and the prequel are decent. Certainly better than that Elm Street remake. I like that they brought back Daniel Pearl for cinematography (speaking of which, wtf went wrong with AvP 2??)

I honestly thought the R Lee Erney bits were way more compelling than any of the actual chainsaw massacre parts. Leatherface is just a lot blander in this film, closer to a Jason knock off than the squealing retard we know. That being said its still a big step up from the most recent version where Leatherface was an even more of a generic slasher guy and had no family of freaks with him.
