2 best friends is the best gaming experience for the silent hill games. Part serious appreciation and part absurd hijincks.
I thought it was a fun ride. Maybe went a little hard on the "religion bad" angle, but I guess doing a more nuanced portrayal of the kind of cult Silent Hill was supposed to have wouldn't really fit into a single feature film time frame very well. A lot of people say Pyramid Head shouldn't be in there because he's a specific manifestation of James' mental trauma, but think it's more connected to the town itself. I always thought the series should've done more with the dichotomy between the monsters born from specific people and ones "native" to the town's eldritch dimension, but I guess that's more a /v/ topic.

It’s decent. The acting is kind of terrible besides Cybil - even Sheen Been/Shawn Bawn’s acting was awkward, but I blame that partially on the director probably not having a great ear for American accents.Besides that, most of the movie prior to the dogshit exposition dump in Alessa’s hospital room was pretty good. Rest of the movie after that is a huge novedive. Ending was a nice recovery, however.It’s a rollercoaster, but definitely not bad.High tier cinematography though, probably the movies strongest aspect.Also fuck Konami.

I wouldn't call it terrible but it felt like a bunch of scenes thrown together instead of a cohesive storyline. I blame the editing for a lot of it. Intentional, it really did feel watching someone play a vidya game.

Get a bunch of professional dancers, dress them up as Silent Hill nurses, and choregraph some creepy unnatural moves. But the result just looked like a bunch of dancers doing typical dancer shit, and it just took me out of the film.I always wondered whether that would have been fixed by better choreography, or instead getting some bitches who weren't professional dancers to do it. Make it a little less polished, more chaotic and organic. Like even a bunch of extras dressed as basic-bitch zombies are somehow more convincing.Also if I hear another fucking woman say, "I can do this ... ", I'm going to go full metal Elvis on my TV. It's the most empty self-affirmation bullshit a character could say, and it has become standard now with Woke Zoomer shit for the stronk independent whammen protag to say that on-the-nose shit at some point
