Did Hollywood actors always have fake teeth or is that a modern thing?

Only just found out Clark gable had all his teeth replaced in his 30’s

Any other trends in the acting world? Is there some equivalent to the modern buccal fat removal in the 1960’s? Or 80’s?

You’d be shocked just how many actors wore toupees and hair pieces. Constantly. Not just for work.

William Shatner for example was wearing them as early as Star Trek TOS

It’s why his hair dramatically looked different as soon as that show ended. He went from getting bespoke high quality expensive ones given to him, to needing to pay for them himself. Hence the awful unnatural curly perm look of the 70’s and 80’s

Eventually this just led to hair transplants becoming a huge industry in Hollywood, shatner never did it though

He had his legit hair on the twilight zone only a couple years earlier so he must have lost his hair quick
