Alright bros.>Midsommar>Hereditary>\/\/ I T C HThe "big three" in horror. None of which are particularly horrifying. What is a truly HORRIFIC and SCARY movie I can show someone? Ghosts/the Ring-type creatures not allowed.
>>215406055>Sinister>Dead Silence Mood and tone is very important and this is why 80’s movies arent scary. The decade was just too goody.

>>215406136This is a gem. The decade as a whole I mean.
>>215405980Based and tuskpilled I know the movie is played for fun, but honestly the protagonist's fate is one of the worst I've seen in any horror movie
>>215406128>the witch This was decent and good even. It was before a24 slop tookover>hereditaryDefinitely hyped up by females and redditors. Not terrible but definitely not that good. >MidsommarKinda woke and reddit.
Black Phone is so bad, how did it become the most popular horror franchise of all time? What's the appeal?

>>215406178It wasn't even the most popular horror of 2021.But the answer is Slipknot masks. Plebs love em.
hmm perhaps I will be adventurous and see if there's anything Halloween related in the performing arts around town, oh Dracula>These two exceptional artists have cracked open one of the most enduring gothic legends and reimagined it through a lens of empowerment, sensuality, and female agency.>Traditionally, the women in this story have been cast as victims, as shadows, as silent figures in the orbit of Dracula’s myth. Vanessa and Joanie boldly flip that script, placing the women at the center, giving them voice, complexity, and power. What emerges is a Dracula that feels both timeless and startlingly new — a story about fear, desire, secrets, and survival told in a way that resonates now.well then..

>>215406230just kill me bro, just fucking end my stupid chud life
>>215406204Maybe it has to do with the fact that half of the movie is an irrelevant waste of screentime, at first it seems that it's building up to something but nope, GOTCHA.

Biggest disappointments in recent times>Terrifier 2>Terrifier 3Biggest surprise >Smile 2
>>215406281Joanie and Vanessa are absolutely right.
>>215406178I don't get the message here, so killing children gives you powers for whatever reason, but not enough powers to beat mary sues?
>>215406178every year, the bar gets lower and lower. admittedly, the gore gets slicker, the direction more capeshit-hollywod-like, but the substance of the films degrade.
>>215406435I haven't seen Smile/2 yet, but I agree Terrifier 2 was way overhyped and really sucked outside of a few gore scenes, and 3 was only a bit better (mostly due to being shorter) but still so dumb and badly written. Terrifier 1 is actually pretty good, and I was surprised to see how many Terrifier 2/3 fans think the first one sucks
>>215406235I wanna shoplift Angela's brown cherry.
>>215406477When Gwen said "it's black phoning time" and all the avengers beat the Grabber, I clapped. I wish I was joking.
>>215406489Takes are all over the place. Terrifier 1 + 3 are the best to me, Terrifier 2, idk the gore was impressive but it had a very sickly look to it with the constant e-thot mood lighting. I wouldn't rewatch it, I would rewatch the other two though.
>>215406489>I was surprised to see how many Terrifier 2/3 fans think the first one sucksWell that's because the acting is objectively bad and there's almost no plot. I like it quite a bit but it's mostly just a glorified gore reel that moves from set piece to set piece with very little interesting in between.
>>215406489t 2/3 are reddit and mainstream and was really targeted at women. I am not saying it is meant for only women, i am saying it was directly targeted at men AND women. And women are reddit.
>>215406537Shut up
>>215406412I'm waiting for him to tire out tbqh
Jason's mask is really the nicest mask in horror
>>215406537>there's almost no plot. This was the big benefit to me. No fucking around with back story, no frills, kind of like how Michael defies attempts to explain his evil, Art did the same but defied even a backstory.>>215406563Seethe.
>>215406547Horror movies that target females instead of just horror fans are always shit.
Horror genre stays winning
>>215406588you gotta give it to jason. even though michael is more successful, everyone thinks slasher = hockey mask.
>>215406537>the acting is objectively bad and there's almost no plot. I like it quite a bit but it's mostly just a glorified gore reel that moves from set piece to set pieceThat's to its benefit, though. The actors aren't any better in 2 or 3, and the writing couldn't be more generic, so stretching the movie out to 2 and a half hours just to showcase the utterly uncharismatic cast and the Hallmark-tier story harms the sequels a lot when all they're really good for is the gore and Art antics
I always have to remind myself that most of the people who say that Terrifier 2 (an objective masterpiece) is "too long" have probably seen more than one Thor movie or whatever and have zero self awareness.
>>215406585He isn’t here
>“I vividly remember every movie that truly terrified me,” Eli Roth, founder and chief creative officer of The Horror Section, said in a statement. “I remember standing on 25th street in New York City when my friend Kevin Foxe handed me a VHS of a film he had produced, which had just gotten into Sundance, called ‘The Blair Witch Project,’ and that night I had to sleep with the lights on. I remember watching a screener of ‘Paranormal Activity’ during the filming of ‘Inglourious Basterds’ in my apartment in Berlin, and I was so freaked out that I had to give it to Quentin [Tarantino] to traumatize him as well. And then there was ‘Dream Eater,’ watching this movie alone, in my house, and turning on the lights because it was that scary. It has been so long since I have been truly terrified by a film to such a degree that I had almost forgotten what it felt like. Everyone say "Thank you Mr. Roth" for bringing us the new frontier in found footage horror.
>>215406593>>215406622I understand the appeal there and even feel that way to a point as well but most people want story in between the kills, a reason to care if you will, even if it's kind of dumb and poorly done.Personally I think there's a happy medium. I want more than Terrifier 1's barebones plot but definitely less than 2's exhaustive scenes of exposition. So in summary the best slasher of all time is Prom Night 2
>>215406658Thor is slop. His movies were the weakest. Best standalone film was the first Doctor Strange
>>215406613problem is that Michael's mask looked so different from movie to movie and in some movies it looked awful. Jason's mask never really changed, and it helped that hockey teams stopped using that style of mask, so you never saw it outside the Jason movies
>>215406692And this is the type of nigger saying Terrifier 2 has bad acting. There has not been a better horror performer than Lauren LaVera since Virginia Madsen in Candyman.A movie being "too long" is not a real complaint. Make time for it, or don't.
>>215406708it'd be funny if they announced a new jason film and he was wearing a modern hockey mask
>>215406708
>>215406719I'm just happy she will never be in anything else. since shitty actresses like this just tend to fade away.
>>215406681Aside from this Roth also has a film "The Icecream Man" in the pipeline. One he's actually writing and directing. Also Thanksgiving 2 coming at some point.
>>215406719>A movie being "too long" is not a real complaintthat's bullshit. plenty of movies are too long. if you've never thought a movie was too long you either havent seen many movies or you dont know how to think about movies critically
>>215406777She's been in like 20 different things since Terrifier 2, not including Terrifier 3You've already lost
>>215406719She is both a worse actress and less attractive than the girl in the first movie. >A movie being "too long" is not a real complaint. Make time for it, or don't.Of course it is. Pacing and editing have always been mainstream points of complaint for film critics. When the director decides how long his movie should be, he has to make sure the length has a reason. If it's an extra hour of footage just to show off bad acting and story nobody gives a shit about, it's poor direction. The audience is not obligated to enjoy every second of a film.
>>215406828No.You just have zoombrain. And you're probably a wageslave if you strapped for time on a fucking tuesday night and you can't spare the time for two and a half hour movie.
>>2154050741/2Rule of thumb would be anything you can plan/rehearse in advance the better, but sometimes that's easier said than done and you've got to just roll with it. Pretty much any shoot will have something go wrong or not as planned and need a solution inprovised on the spot/there will be a moment something unexpected happens that you like better than what you had planned so you'll want to go with that instead (though be careful sometimes its something that happened spontaneously and can't be recreated so it's best to not go chasing the dragon) That being said, though, try not to get too married to your vision. Eventually you might get skilled enough to plan everyout in advance but in my experience there will be at least a couple of shots that look different IRL than what you had sletched out or were imagining in your head and youll want to reframe things on the fly. Its good to have a list of shots so you can refresh your memory as to what came before the scene and what's coming afterwards because sometimes you change it and things just cut together right in editing and the shots will look jarring. Being able to make a rough sketch of the shots beforehand will really help if you're skilled enough for that because until you really get the knack for it sometimes some shots just won't cut together well, but for the most part you shoudlnt have to worry about it and if you shoot some coverage (basically establishing shots and such) you'll have some wiggle room in editing.
>>215406860>She is both a worse actress and less attractive than the girl in the first movie. You have awful taste. This makes me think you're not white, and thus your judgement of acting is irrelevant.
>>2154069002/2Likewise, I've found the dialogue can be a bit of a catch 22. Letting the actors improvise can really help the dialogue to sound more natural but if they're improvising every take it will make it hard to edit together because sometimes the best take is just a little too different than the previous scene's take and they don't fit together, so then you're forced to use a worse take or mess with it in editing to Frankenstein together two different shots. My advice would be to tell the actors they don't have to be "book perfect" and to feel free to reword things of it makes the lines easier to say, but if they're going to change it then try to at least say it the same way each time to help with editing.Other than that, I really can't emphasize practicing color grading. It's going to make or break the loom of the film after and having a general idea of the lighting set up and method you'll use afterwards will help you figure things out in post. Even just taking random clips of people walking around or yourself doing stuff on the room you might be shooting in can be good practice. Last thing I can think to mention is don't forget to take a "room tone." It will help you cover up background noise and such when editing the sound. Also practice taking some clips on advance to see how the sound turns out. I've been fortunate in that my little black magic's built in mic is good enough I usually don't have to use an external mic, but ifnyoure getting a lot of white noise you might have to get one.
>>215406893>you're probably a wageslave if you strapped for time on a fucking tuesday night and you can't spare the time for two and a half hour movie. If it's a good movie, sure. Terrifier 2 is not a good movie. Because it's not a good movie, 2 and a half hours is not a worthwhile investment to watch it, and should be spent watching something else.>>215406918Terrifier schizos, ladies and gentlemen

>>215405169I like it. Always did as a kid but since getting older I've found its onw of those rare 00's horror movies that has wacky dialogue and situations that don't make sense but you won't actually notice if you don't think about it. Same with Jeepers Creepers 2 and some Final Destination movies.I can't recall everything at the moment but I remember the kid who works in the ice cube slaughterhouse being one. >>215405286There's layers of nuance to the woman/gay relationship. Gays hate women in the sense that they want to have all the guys to themselves and don't have any interest in women so they find them annoying and are jealous of them. On the other hand they know that the majority of the reason they aren't institutionalized is because women think they're fun so they have to be in proximity to them not only for protection but because they want to hear details about straight guy's sex lives and also on a subconscious level they want to try to learn behaviors and mimic them in the hopes that they will be able to seduce straight guys. One thing women don't know that always forever changes their opinion on gay guys is when they aren't around gay guys will shit talk them to straight guys and go: "Why can't just US GUYS hangout WITHOUT THEM? I would totally be down for that, you guys." Try it sometime. You'll make a woman rethink her entire view on reality.
>>215405446I'm usually down for some Weaving horror kino but I don't have high hopes for this one. It reeks of the all too common in Hollywood problem nowadays of the writers being isolated nepo babies suffering arrested development that don't know how to write anything but stories about isolated nepo babies suffering arrested development. Like seriously, who was asking for a movie about a rich Hollywood type dealing with horror movie stuff, let alone THREE in a couple years (this, Smile 2, and The Substance, and honestly probably even more I haven't seen.) Like it's obvious they just don't know what regular people are like and trying to figure it out just aggravates them.

Terrifer 3 is better than 99% of 80s slashers.
>>215407148Go outside for once, and visit a theater. You'll see the audience of any horror film is roughly 50/50 unless it's a sci-fi.Alien is a male franchise.
>>215406055There's a movie like serpent and the rainbow where there's a scene where there's bugs crawling all over a baby but I can't think what it was. I haven't seen these two but based on my Dad telling me about them as a kid I'd say Serpent and the Rainbow, Wolf Creek, and The Skeleton Key always sounded like the freakiest. Personally, I'd say the original Wicker Man or Session 9.
>>215405614I don't think he's a pedo. He was just really drunk and coked out when he wrote the book and you have to remember It the novel isn't like the movies. Each chapter alternates between the adults and the kids and King was oerving on Beverly pretty hard (she mifht be based on his wife) he even has his self insert (the famous author who used to be a dorky kid who stuttered) start dating jer while they're back in Derry even though he's married. There's a whole scene at the beginning where her abusive boyfriend gets mad at her and belts her ass before fucking her and even when she gets back to Derry and the guys find out about her abusive boyfriend they all have a moment where they go: "she could probably use a good spanking every now and then but he takes it too far." I think at the end he was wanting to get one last scene in and he just decided fuck it, I get paid millions of dollars to wrote whateber pops into my head and went for it.
>>215406079Have you seen the original Hellraiser? Oh Anon >>215406055 the original Hellraiser is actually pretty disturbing.
>>215406153You should check out Halloween Resurrection
>>215406208Heh I know the guy that makes those for them.
This was way too over hyped. It was just gruesome, not scary, and the plot was nothing special either. Laura is one of the most hateful characters I've ever seen in a horror movie, but apart from that nothing really stands out in this film. Talk to Me was much better.
>>215406230This stuff is just sickening. Everything else aside, there's stuff like Camilla and Vampyre, there's literally so many things they could draw from if they were truly inspired to make a female driven vampire story, but they weren't they just want to green popular IP and say it's problematic now watch out heckin woke version. I mean, are we going to act like there aren't any female vampire stories? Pretty much every vampire property since the tirn of the century has been female centric due to Buffy and Twilight
>>215406719>A movie being "too long" is not a real complaint. Make time for it, or don't.Even fans of Terrifier admit that T2 was needlessly long and dragged with the gay ass superhero fight at the ending. Stop sucking cock anon
>>215406280Kevin Smith is lame lately but he's really good at horror. It's like in Monkeybone how his one hand draws kiddy funny stuff and the other draws messed up stuff. He's only done Tusk and Red State but both had a very unique vibe that was unlike his other films and unlike most other things than themselves and both were creepy and messed up. Red State especially was ambitious as could be when you listen to his interview about what the original ending was supposed to be.
>>215406658>Terrifier 2 (an objective masterpiece)Holy fuck, do Terriefierniggers really?

>>215407148TikTok told them to. No, I'm not joking. Women are herd animals and very monkey see, monkey do. They even did a study recently that showed a woman's brain will rewire itself to make her find a guy attractive if she is made to believe other women find him attractive (explains how Jews and Pedro Pascal can be considered hot) They saw a bunch of TikToks of people saying it was "the craziest, scariest movie ever OMG" then a bunch of videos of other girls going: "OMG I did the terrifier challenge" "I just got from terrifier with my boyfriend I CAN'T BREATHE" and their brains rewired to tell them they had to go see it and that they were going to like it.
>>215406900>>215406924good info but I can't believe you took the time to write all that just for an anon that said "uhh im a total loser but I could totally make a movie, how hard can it be?"
>>215407521what you said makes sense but how come it doesn't work with movies like snow white or other crap that flops
Just finished. Extremely boring and extremely comfy. Bunch of New Jersey sorority sisters have an initiation (aka scavenger hunt) at an abandoned, haunted whorehouse where one of the whores' young son murdered her. The girls are all cute as fuck and bicker endlessly and there's some minor boobage, but it's an hour before anyone dies and the gore is negligible. Has oodles of loveable slasher vibes but nothing else

>A tie-in website set in the universe of Bring Her Back and Talk To Me called blackangeltapes.net provides further insights as to how Laura came to own the possession ritual tape in the film, what the circular motions she traces on the window and Ollie's head signify, and why the demon possessing Ollie is constantly hungry. You suck at storytelling if have to create a website to infodump the background of your film because you couldn't find a way to do it IN THE FUCKING MOVIE.

Chime (2024) – This forty-five minute short is Worth a Watch for fans of Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s other work (Cure, Pulse, Sweet Home), but it hamstrings itself by being a little too *obscure*. A cooking instructor encounters a crazy student who does everything the opposite way he’s told. The instructor ignores it in the most diplomatic Japanese fashion, even when the student tells him that he hears a “chime” that holds a message just for him -- that half his brain has been turned into a machine to receive this information, these . . . INSTRUCTIONS. There is blood and death and madness (and apparently a ghost!), against the backdrop of thrumming, first-world “quiet” -- captured by the conservative but broad-scoped camerawork Kurosawa uses in some of his other films. It was interesting, but disappointing. I finally figured Cure out after thinking hard about it, but I’m not sure this one *can* be untangled very much. As far as I can tell, it’s something like this. As one character says, half his brain is rational and his own to command . . . the other half is a “machine” that receives messages. It seems to be an examination of the strictures of Japanese society. The rational brain comes into conflict with the minutely programmed *other* half that receives its marching orders from Japanese society at large . . . and when the individualist and the shakaijin (society person) clash in the same body, strange things can happen. (If only there was more length, more incident, I might be encouraged to watch it again. However I feel as if my gaijin brain has sussed out all it can.)

>>215411345>we have nothing like this anymoreDisagree, it's just not the mainstream. Horror movies of all kinds are still released, but they go streaming only. 90s was rife with mainstream variety because they were trying to find something new after the 80s slasher craze. Funny enough, the answer was a new kind of slasher craze in the second half of the 90s. Every decade has their mainstream themes and appeal, but now streaming changed that. Mainstream is now whatever is most abundant on the streaming service you have.

>>215411474Real talk, why are drag queens so embedded in american culture? I don't think any other country is as into themWell, maybe Brazil, but that's probably just because of old men craving that dickgirl bussy
>>215411746
>>215411791Never seen those movies, so I can't really say. It doesn't really matter though because I said that all horror movies of all kinds are still released, not that there is an equivalent to every movie ever made from previous decades. Two completely different arguments.
This might be too intense for me.
>>215405953This movie is so weird. There’s a good movie in there, but between shit effects and some awful acting it would probable benefit from a remake.
>>215411807You know the answer to that. I would tell you, but I'd rather not get banned.
>>215411807Because Europe has panto if you want to dress like a dame, and Brazil understands carnivale, while America shit scared of anything catholic>>215409586Brazil (1985)
>>215407764Where is this from?
>>215411879name some good recent movies . give me 10 to watch. you say those good movies exist now, give me10
>>215411901stop noticing
>>215411962Define recent. Give me a year range. If you're just going to call them all shit without watching any of them with an unbiased view, then you can fuck off right now.
>>215411962no answer will satisfy you. you argue in complete bad faith.
>>215412011>>215412002if you can't name 10 good movies of the last 5 years then this post stays correct: >>215411345if you can't name them then not only is he correct but you couldn't even defend your point and give any evidence.this other anon quickly named 17 movies he thought were good for the 90s >>215411064
>>215412011Even when a new movie is technically good enough to pass as a professional product with artistic merits (rare but happens), I usually hate the characters. Too much has changed culturally and socially since 30 years ago and I don't want to watch movies that remind how gay and woman-brained everyone and everything is now. Plus the outrageous surge in cringe niggers and mutt placements. It's too much.
>>215412080It's not about naming them, as I can do easily (same anon as >>215411064). It's about babyduck syndrome retards that argue in bad faith. This means no matter what movies I say, they'll immediately say they're shit.>Character>Midnight>Superhost>The Sadness>The Manor>Dashcam>Incantation>Project Wolf Hunting>HITHD trilogy>The Incel Tapes>Extraneous Matter>Love Will Tear Us Apart>Handsome Guys>Milk & Serial>Sayuri
>>215405953
They just killed some guy with too much facial here, town people are the real monsters
>>215411791Valerie wasn't even released into English speaking markets until 35 years after it got made, and didn't get any significant attention til 10 more years after that. You not seeing every goddamn thing that exists right now doesn't mean people aren't making shit
>>215411791>To The Devil A Daughter or Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders.why did you choose 2 films with underage girls and explicit (or not so explicit) sexual references and thematics, anon?
>>215412402To make the point that "Horror movies of all kinds are still released" is false.
>>215412424That doesn't disprove my point. Again, two different arguments. All kinds doesn't mean there's an exact equivalent to everything ever made from the past. Is there an exact equivalent to Rubber that came out before it? Nope. It must go both ways, or you have no argument.
>>215412260>>215412002>>215412011I haven't seen any of these and I'll watch them. I was asking genuinely in good faith. I'll watch them if they're as great as fun 80s and 90s movies without any modern cynicism >the incel tapesis that real?
>>215412550>the incel tapes>is that real?I found it to be hilarious satire. People either take it too seriously or don't understand that the entire first part is just a satirical take on all the "incel" shit.
I keep returning to this era.So good. Even when it's bad ;)
>>215412504> rubberthat right there is my problem with modern horror.you get 1 of 2 things, you either get dark depressing misery porn style movies like babbadook or bring her back or antichrist the color out of space or the witch or Gretel and Hansel or shit like that. void of enjoyment or fun or just void of anything positive. just completely grieve movies or, you get cynical arrogant , laugh at the audience - can't take anything serious, let's look down on the genre because we are so much better garbage like Megan, like everything Jordan Peele does, movies like weapons, like the substance. like terrifier, both types of movies where you can tell the director wants to hold a mirror to the audience for 2 hours. one type wants you to cry, the other type laughs at you for liking horror. rubber, how hilarious. terrifier, how edgy. horror is such trash now. everything has to have ""A MESSAGE"
i just watched videodrome not knowing anything going in and it was fking awesome
>>215412723well done, never watch trailers or read long synopsis, just get the film right away and watch it out of information outside who appears in and who directed it
>>215412705Yep, you're just another babyduck syndrome retard. I hope you grow out of it one day because I can tell nobody likes you or wants to talk with you. You're incredibly insufferable and closed-minded to everything that doesn't match exactly to what you first watched, hence you're babyduck syndrome retard. Keep posting out of anger and attention, won't get anymore from me.
horor pitures
>>215412800i didn't even know who directed it and i wasn't paying attention to the intro credits so i had no idea about what to expect
>>215407737Cannibal Mukbang
>>215412705How tf is M3gan "cynical arrogant , laugh at the audience"?Just because it's a bit more lighthearted doesn't mean its that.
>>215412424>You can never make Blazing Saddles today>You can never have an Archie Bunker today>Here's Cartman from South Park
>>215413168I don't get it.
>>215407682>Sir, we recieved a call from Pierce Brosnan asking if we're going to do a sequel, and he offers to act himself in it, no payment required, with only one condition...
>>215412705you are dumb af and very obviously projecting your own insecurities onto what you watch
when does this get better?
>>215413707>tfw I found out that was a body double
>>215410973early 90s horor is great though
>>215413735they should ban body doubles so willing actors can get the role
What's the best sequel that lived up or exceeded the original? (Can also be something not listed)
>>215413832Prom Night 2
>>215413832ANOES 3, Sleepaway Camp 2, Evil Dead 2, F13 Parts 4 & 6 are all sequels I like more than the original (even if I also like the original)
>>215413786I've been saying this for years. If you're unwilling to get nude even though the role calls for it, at the very least you should be fired from the role. Ideally, you'd be blacklisted from the industry since it proves you aren't fully dedicated to your art.
Forgot to post my pointless and useless thoughts on what I watched this morning:>The Bitter Taste125 minutes long and holy shit is it bad. Easily a 3.5/10 movie. The lead actress has absolutely zero range and is very wooden. The SFX are dogshit and not even in a funny way. There's an entire plot point that just vanishes. You can remove the first 8 minutes of the movie and it wouldn't change anything. The director, who is also the cinematographer, is a retard and needs to quit. It breaks so many basic rules that lead to an unpleasant viewing experience. Fuck this movie, don't watch it.>Stigmatized Properties: Possession50/50 movie for sure. It doesn't do anything well or bad, just a lot of meh. There's some horror to it, but nothing is scary or threatening ever. He moves on from place to place with nothing resolving.>The Last House On Dead End StreetWeird that none of this should work. The effects are terrible, acting shit, and barely any of the dialog matchers their mouth because it was done in post. Someone how, this ends up working in the end because it's so fucking cruel from start to finish. It never releases that atmosphere, which is rarely matched by other movies. Should you enjoy this? Absolute not. Will you?Not sure, but I did.
>>215413735I will say that I would rather see a person hired for looking good naked rather than the actual actress' mediocre one.
>>215413942I watched Possession 3 days ago for the first time and I got filtered. Loved Isabella Adjani
>>215413056>Cannibal Mukbang
>>215414053Then just hire the body double for the role instead of the original actress.
>>215414064Those are two different movies from different countries and difference centuries.
>>215414053I'd watch a pretty face with a mediocre body anytime
>>215414064mfw
>>215414064What happens in Possession 2? Did you skipped it?
>>215413942>>215414120I'm retarded
>>215414170It's okay spooky fren, this is 4chan, we're all retarded, or we wouldn't be here.
what's a horror film that surpasses 1408?
>>215413942>The Last House On Dead End StreetThe director of these mostly did porn, and his movies have a reputation for being morose and depressing despite the fucking. Legend has it he was a fucking mean asshole, which kind of explains it. Upcoming 2000s era DVD label Barrel Entertainment, who out out Nekromantik and a few other cult movies, got involved with him to release a fantastic LHODES set, for him to decide he wanted more money and sued them so mercilessly they went bankrupt and had to close shop. He showed little remorse about it.
>>215407567Probably a combination of seeing enough people IRL complaining about it that the conditioning didn't work and the fact that it won't work with other women. For a woman to like a famous woman she has to be able to self insert as her a bit, especially appearance-wise. When it's a different race they will usually just go to hating them mode because they know they have something they don't have and don't want other people to find that attractive. Similar to why they usually seethe about people thinking Asian girls are cute. >>215407539Those are the people I'd most want to see making movies
>>215407682Just makes me think it could've been a White woman
>>215414277That guy is a prick!
>>215412878>guy who doesn't know Cronenberg directed Videodrome but implies such knowledge would have affected his experiencelol wtf
>>215414277So life and art did crossover some, it seems. I remember in the 2000s, there was a very rare 3-disc set released for the movie. No clue what was on the 3rd disc.
>>215408817I swear there are 187 girl in a basement movies and they're all exactly the same. That Josef Fritzel thing must be like a White Whale to jews.
>>215409118Technically Cujo
>>215409623How did this even happen
>>215411019Serpent and the Rainbow Frankenstein 1994Frankenstein unbound
>>215411019probably too high brow for you but Cure (1997)
I enjoy this as a very fun, scholcky action movie, (I never saw Requiem)
these threads are as boring as the horror genre itself
>>215405953Watch Carne de tu carne (1983)>>215409118Ferat Vampire (1982)
>>215414553ok
>>215411791I got you: L'arte della gioia
>>215414553
>>215414548>I never saw RequiemIt's okay, nobody else could see it either.
>>215411807jews
>>215412002>>215412011You know they're all bad, then. I even have friends that work on horror movies and I can't watch most of their stuff
>>215412260Sound kind of wimpy, Anon
>>215414640>You know they're all badNo, I don't since I like some of them. You have severe babyduck syndrome and are in denial about it. No more replies from me.>>215414667Cool opinion bro. Just more people to hide and not deal with.
>>215412504Are character and icel tapes even horror?
>>215413832Halloween II
>>215414778Incel Tapes is mostly a satirical comedy and then turns into a thriller with some horror elements. Character is more of a crime-thriller, but has horror elements as well. There are certain non-horror movies that get talked about and recommended all the time, namely The Guest.
>>215414273Misery and Grace Encounters
Not a great film but this fucker is more aesthetic than Michael Myers, Leatherface, Freddy and Jason combined.
>>215414851A little dishonest for the list but I'll take it as a rec
>>215413832Aliens
Are you Anons brave enough for true horror kino?
>>215414966Is that porn? Looks like porn
You guys have no taste.
>>215414966that looks really fucking bland
>>215415010>>215415072It was both, but also a horror movie. I went to the premiere and it was a fun experience, though kind of frustrating to see how easy nepo babies have it in Hollywood.Fun fact: the producer said he'd only give the director the money to make the movie of the climax somehow revolved around an enema.
>>215415145is it one of those pinku films?
>>215415145Based weirdo producer. Who are the nepo babies involved?
>>215415145Stunning and brave, bruv
>>215415230At first, I thought "why does she have so much glitter on her self" and then I realized what that really was.
>>215415145>though kind of frustrating to see how easy nepo babies have it in Hollywood.exlain that in further detail for what you see there, also the enema part
Just finished. This was not what I was expecting at all, and I loved it. I don't know if I can recommend it, it's not thrilling, I don't think I could convince anyone it was scary, but I couldn't predict where it went and I was pretty tense and on edge right before things come into focus, wondering what the hell was going on. Heavy, heavy 80s NYC vibes that should appeal to fans of stuff like Liquid Sky and Basket Case, or even Alice Sweet Alice. I can see this being an inspiration for Alex Ross Perry's Queen of Earth, if any of you saw that. One of my favorites from this month.
So, the kid with explosive diarrhea definitely had the worst death, right?
>>215415583The lead was beautiful, reminded me vaguely of Daddario
>>215415583>Heavy, heavy 80s NYC vibesThat's good enough for me.
>>215415583That creature behind her has an interesting nose. I've seen it many places before.
>>215414966we are werewolves, not swearwolves
>>215415608Yes we get it /pol/chuddie it looks like a jewish person.
>>215415645Oh no, I'd never say that. More that plenty of movies have demons and shit with a nose like that. Nothing to do with anything that can get on hammered.
>>215415645YOU SAID IT, not me, YOU SAID IT
>>215415695nazi scum
>>215415583You had me at heavy 80s NY vibes.
>>215415602She's got a nice set of hooters
>>215415849im an arselad
>>215406893no retard. movies being too long has nothing to do with whether it keeps your attention or is "worth the time investment" like that other retard said. a movie can be 3 hours but if the pacing and script are tight it will feel like a good length. a movie can be 1 hour and 45 minutes and feel too long because they lose the plot and have unnecessary scenes. you are a retard.
>>215405953Kinda fell off on watching horror movies this month but I did watch:Terrifier 2 and 3: 2 was an enormous step up from the original movie and 3 was a huge let down in comparison. A lot of Art doing random bullshit and he and Sienna don’t even meet properly until the last 30 minutes. Also it’s shorter than 2 but the pacing is so much worse. It really drags. The Blackcoat’s Daughter: Felt meandering as I was watching it but the reveal that Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka are the same character made everything else click into place. Great movieV/H/S 94: Every short aside from The Subject sucked but Terror in particular was a giant, giant pile of shit. Nosferatu: Watched it earlier this year, and this is by Eggers’ weakest film. Such a disappointment.Phantasm: Incredible visuals and the Tall Man was a great villain but was very underutilized. Although the ending ruined the movie, it was all a dream is the lamest possible ending. Also extremely influential especially for being a small little horror film. Not sure if I’m interested in the sequels though
Looks like Good Boy is coming out in 2 days
>>215415904Maybe we were the good boys all along
