I have a 2 year old son. My dad showed me how to shoot and we hunted dove. I don't know what the fuck the guy in this video is doing. I might be slightly corrupted living in the city for too long and having a slightly liberal wife but being a jerk ass to your son doesn't make him tough. You don't act tough to someone to make them tough you teach them. I'd ask him why he's scared, then I would instruct him on how to not injure himself. Proper form and all that. If need be I would start him on something smaller. I was taught gun safety and shooting technique on a 22 rifle, my first hunt was with a 20 gauge. I think you have to just be curious with kids and then offer your guidance. Fuck "gentle parenting" but I think you can lead a child by being firm but also being kind while being firm and also trying to hear them out.
