These videos are just ads right?

most of the time their publicist picks out the movies for them
>>
>oh wow look! the brand new Wes Anderson collection available now at Barnes and Noble!
what did (famous actor) mean by this?
>>
>>215473391
my criterion collection is just all the cronenberg movies theyve got. not sure if they dropped the heisei godzilla set yet but a few of those too.
>>
>>215473391
these were cool the first couple of years
then the whole film nerd scene got utterly pozzed by the letterboxd virus
and now these vids are just hollywood kikes promoting their latest turds by pretending to like whatever is trendy with letterboxd trannies
>>
I like it when the actors just dgaf and clean out the closet and barely elaborate on their picks while just filling their bags
>>
>an actors' favorite movies are all conveniently in the collection
what luck!

Was this witty enough to merit posting it more than once?
>>

you know it's true

It’s not picking your letterboxd top 4, the entire point is picking movies from the collection. People don’t wander in, go “yo, no Mac and Me?! I’m out”
>>

No shit retard.
>>
>>215473582
they're picking movies that they already like. They rarely go in picking movies that they've never seen.
>>

lmao, just once I want this to happen

>The Night of the Hunter
Incredible photography. Incredible performances. Something happens about a third of the way through this film that made my jaw drop and I couldn't believe how wrong I was about what this movie was and where it was going. Especially given the time it was made. A real treasure.
>Hiroshima Mon Amour
Well, Last Year at Marienbad isn't here so I'll go with Alain Resnais' #2 classic. Visual poetry that really pushes you to understand film as a visual medium.
>George Washington
David Gordon Green! Come back to making good movies. We need you.
>Barry Lyndon
Saw a 35mm print of this a few years ago in Chicago and could not believe how beautiful it looks so the BluRay will be a nice upgrade from DVD. Bizarrely brisk film for a 3 hour long Kubrick picture. But then again, it's Kubrick. You're never going wrong with picking Kubrick.

Seriously it's got to be 1 in 3 of the guests pick up Blue Velvet

I agree with Barry Lyndon. I admit, I am a pleb and know not the other spirits invoked.

They think Lynch was telling them all that stuff was kickass. Which is hilarious considering he's showing the audience how pathetic and psychotic these Satanists really are.

Everything a celebrity does is an ad
>>
Now how are we supposed to have a good faith conversation when you start from such a poison-pilled premise? There's so many good episodes but why would I name a single one itt?

Blue Velvet is somewhat like Chunking Express. The film has themes and it may even have a message, but the important part is the emotional reaction (emotions on the opposite and complementary end of the spectrum across from Chunking Express) and the "it made my jaw drop" moments like with Perfect Blue. This is why they are films that stay with people, the same way a song or a poem stay with someone without any of them being deep or didactic
