Just watched this and holy shit. Absolute kino.
>best gun action since Robocop
>All practical effects and one- shot takes of dozens of stuntmen exploding. Blood squibs and sparks flying everywhere.
>Excellent cinematography with no shaky cam.
A fucking joy to watch. I have to go back.
Tell me: what are the absolute best Hong Kong gun action films from the 80s and 90s? This shit was on par with or surpassed the village attack sequence in Predator.

>since Robocop
It came out after Robertcop
Didn't you make this thread the other day? Anyways, Hard Boiled is the greatest action movie of it's kind. The Killer, A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2, and Bullet in the Head are the other best HK gun action movies. They're all directed by Woo and predate Hard Boiled.
>>
I fucking hate John Woo and his gay ass goofy gun fu. Give me old school kung fu films over that shit any day

The choreography is great but the shooting is terrible, infinite ammo and no recoil

I watched this a while ago and I didn't get the bit about the flowers. They're storming the hospital and Chow Yun Fat tells the chick "Call in the cavalry when someone gives you flowers" and he slips a flower in her pocket without her noticing. So she's waiting for the signal until eventually she looks in her pocket and finds the flower, it's a callback to Chow trying to date her and she says she wants flowers, but it makes no sense in terms of timing something to happen. How did he know she would find it in time? What if she just never checked her pocket?

I think he just wanted her to call the cops as soon as possible. Probably didn't intend for the flower to go unnoticed for as long as it did.

Should have just told her to call them then, or done it himself.
