>Guy Pearce has revealed that the reason he has not worked with Christopher Nolan since the 2000 film Memento is because he was repeatedly blocked by a Warner Bros executive who didn’t like his acting.

>Speaking to Vanity Fair, Pearce said he had not worked with Nolan – famed for working with the same actors in many of his films – since the director began working with Warner Bros for his 2002 thriller Insomnia, an 18-year relationship that ended with his 2020 film Tenet.

>Pearce said Nolan had approached him to play Ra’s al Ghul in 2005 film Batman Begins (eventually played by Liam Neeson), as well as a character in his 2006 film, The Prestige.

>“He spoke to me about roles a few times over the years,” the 57-year-old actor said. “The first Batman and The Prestige. But there was an executive at Warner Bros who quite openly said to my agent, ‘I don’t get Guy Pearce. I’m never going to get Guy Pearce. I’m never going to employ Guy Pearce.’

>“So, in a way, that’s good to know. I mean, fair enough: there are some actors I don’t get. But it meant I could never work with Chris.”

>The unnamed executive “just didn’t believe in me as an actor”, Pearce said, which meant he missed out on roles.

>“They flew me to London to discuss the Liam Neeson role and I think it was decided on my flight that I wasn’t going to be in the movie,” Pearce said. “So I get there and Chris is like, ‘Hey, you want to see the Batmobile and get dinner?’”

>Warner Bros did not respond to a request for comment from Vanity Fair.
>>
Probably for the best, Guy was as charismatic as a chinaman in Memento

Bravo Nolan

He's a terrible actor

What if I don’t like guy Pearce, but I’m an attractive short redhead?

Based.
>>
>>215480554
Kino!
>>
>>215480333
Hard to believe that WB is going bankrupt with executives like that in charge.
>>
>>215480581
>but I’m an attractive short redhead?
You look like a monke, sophia.
>>
>>215480554
He was hot in Priscilla

Do executives normally last 18 years in the job in Hollywood?
>>
>>215480369
>chinaman
Is this good or bad
>>
>>215481859
They usually last until they die
>>
>>215480572
Spoilers bro
>>
>>215481859
They never truly leave even if they "leave".
>>
the executive was right
>>
Last movie I saw this Guy in was Ravenous and his acting was fine in it, like most everything else.

My guess is he didnt bend over to an executive.
>>
>>215481859
>>215481937
I thought they get sacked all the time
>>
>>215480606
What's based about that? It's what people do when they have to deliver bad news.
>>
From R'as to the Mandarin. Kinda interesting since they are sort of the same character
>>
Memento is Nolans best film
>>
>>215480333
To be fair, his acting is atrocious.
>>
>>215480578
>>215482155
Is he worse than Liam Neeson?
>>
>>215482155
He was great in Priscilla because it was the only time he didn't have to pretend to be a manly heterosexual

>WB currently going bankrupt once a month and begging for other media conglomerates to buy it
Coincidence?
>>
>>215482452
Guy doesn't have the chops for a leading role like that.
Can't imagine anyone replacing Jackman or Bale there.
>>
>>215482863
Pearce could easily replace jackman in that role and nothing would change about the film
>>
>>215481963
The last movie I saw him in was The Proposition, and he was fine in that.
>>
>>215482888
Nah jackman is a real actor nor some fag like pierce
>>
>>215480369
His character isn’t meant to be charismatic. That would be pretty strange lol

Isn't that exactly what happened to Henry Cavill as Superman?

Also the Justice League sabotage was done on purpose.

Name him you cowards, so he can be doxxed in social media.
>>
>>215482036
they get dirt and blackmail on each other so they rarely ever truly leave
>>
Pretty sure it was Toby Emmerich, one of the shittiest WB exec.
>>
>>215484188
No one wants to talk about snyder shit right now.

That is the goofiest fucking music I've ever heard lmao. Thanks for turning me off that movie.
>>
>>215484838
while there's no accounting for taste, that's a bit dimwitted. "i dont like this one song im not even gonna bother!" the move is a period piece. 1840's. music is meant to evoke that period
>>
>>215480333
He's the best part of LA Confidential. Even with a loose cannon young Russell Crowe.
>>
>>215482888
Jackman is way more open (lol) emotionally as an actor than Pearce, and of course Pearce can emote and you'd know why he was and it would make sense and be believable and fine, but Jackman just makes that emotional connection much more easily and quickly, and that helps to make the movie work, to sympathize with the protagonist but also because it's such a cold movie and it needs heart to balance it
>>
>>215480333
Let me guess he didn't suck cock for some WB exec and they decided to fuck his career.
>>
>>215483309
funny cause Jackman is the real fag all along
watching him try to pretend to be sexually attracted to Scarlett Johanson was funny

It was his pro Palestine views.

>>

Spacey us the best part but yeah I like guy in there too

Memento made 40 million dollars while Nolan WB movies were making like 1 billion each. The executive was proven right.

What the fuck? Pearce is one of the better actors in Hollywood. God it must be tiring to work with retards who think they know something.
>>
>>215487086
He means he didn't suck his cock (literally).
Which means Nolan and Neeson gladly did.
>>
>>215484188
>Isn't that exactly what happened to Henry Cavill as Superman?
No, he was cast as Superman in four films.
>>
>>215480333
That's fucking gay. Neeson was a bad casting choice imo, of course some grubby jew producer was fucking up Nolan's kino, probably the same guy who cast Aiden Gillen as CIA
>>
>>215480333
props to nolan to still making these great films while having executives fucking his shit up

>>215480369
mentally retarded sex slaves like you will be raped for eternity in hell, btw

>>215480333
Did the exec make a pass at him + he refused? Why'd hating some1's acting matter to the point of overriding director's decision + relationship with his actor?

WB is not going bankrupt. It had great year.--

Minecraft Movie ($957,949,195) + Superman ($615,984,465) + Sinners ($367,000,000) + Mickey 17 ($133,347,147) + Final Destination: Bloodlines ($315,130,814) + The Conjuring: Last Rites ($482,212,628)
p.s.
Yes, it is billions in debt, but so is every studio - including Paramount, Disney, and Netflix.
>>
I'M NOT YOUR BUDDY, GUY
>>
>>215485771
Maybe you missed the part where he specifically doesn't give her attention because of his obsession and she flips over to team bale because of it. Even if Jackman is a fag, he acted perfectly hetero at the start where his character is in love with his hot wife.
>>215486408
The heart comes from baleman? You mean how he was actually one life lived by 2 brothers which they kept a secret from everyone including one of the guy's wife and child until it drove her to suicide? At least jackedman was changed into who he was by tragic circumstances (aka bale being a fuckup) beyond his control, meanwhile bale was already a selfish dickhead at the start and stayed with it the whole way through, to the detriment of the few people who cared about him.
>>
>>215487961
He disclosed this when promoting a role where his rich man rapes a poor immigrant (what he was as an Aussie actor in Hollywood)
>>
>>215485857
is psacey implying he and Guy had sex in Savannah Georgia
>>
>>215480369
So perfect for Ras al ghoul
>>
>>215482080
He had already received the bad news but Nolan was a bro and still invited him dinner and let him see the Batmobile, f course that’s based as fuck retard.
>>
>>215490024
There's nothing based about that. Gentlemanly on Nolan's part sure but stop using based when it doesn't make any sense you dumbass. And get these guys' cocks out of your mouth.
>>
>>215480492
If Guy Pearce and Gal Gadot had a child together, do you think they'd be tempted to call it Kid?
