I just watched Ghosts of Mars. It wasn’t very good.

more like spooks on mars, amirite?
>>
i saw this badboy in the theater, it was awful, and i think i fell asleep. all i can remember is an odd, maybe slightly good, credit sequence
>>
>>215494936
>nigger in the movie
that's why
>>
>>215494936
Ice cube ruins it
>>
>>215494936
Love the dumb grunts the monster people speak to each other with. Also Vanessa henstridge
>>
Havent seen it, sounds like Army of Darkness but set on the future, planet mars, without the comedy. Doom with deadites instead of demons
>>
>>215494936
It was kino
>>
>all those recycled shots of the zombies getting blown up presumably to save money
Regardless I love this film. The soundtrack, the shitty stunts, the colourful sets, the cheesy dialogue, the gore. Cheapo kino
>>
I loved watching she spies so I will revisit all of henstrdge's films.
>>
>>215494936
it was fantastic. you are a faggot who thinks dune 2 is a good movie.
>>
>>215494936
It has a weird ending, like a setup for a sequel.
>>
>>215494936
You're right, it's not. But it's also kino at the same time.

>RAH RA RAH RAH RA!
>>
It's nice to see a hot sexy actress being the main character instead of some ogre they try to force.
>>
>>215495112
>i saw this badboy in the theater
Same, as part of a movie marathon
>>
Early days Statham kino
>>
>>215498726
unfortunately, she's an awful actress and just shoehorned in for sex appeal. i'd rather have lead actresses that can ACT
>>
>>215498905
These two make a cute couple. Also Henstridge hilariously gets nearly everyone killed.
>>
>>215494936
it is in fact uncommonly shit
>>
>>215495172
Ice absolutely carried this film.
>>215495322
You mean Natasha.
>>
>>215495172
Fair point. Your criminal badass is doughy with a prison pussy. Sad.
>>
>>215494936
It's a decent movie with a cool premise, it would've been kino if it took itself seriously and was more of a horror movie.
>>
Still better than the 90% of the slop released today
>>
>>215494936
It's one of those films I always try to rewatch and go from "oh hell yeah, I knew this was kino" to "why did I ever like this shitty movie"? I don't think I've ever finished the film.
>>
>>215494936
ape on mars
>>
>>215494936
Yes, unfortunately it sucks.
>>
>>215494936
You mean Ice Cube is now zero-for-two on Martian shit?
>>
>>215494936
Watching now ... thought I'd seen it but was probably thinking of that other shitty Mars movie at the time. How could this possibly suck if it was a Carpenter film? Even his shitty movies are great somehow.
>>
>>215498905
Hair
>>
>>215494936
I love the set
>>
>>215499909
the other one was red plaent
>>
>>215500072
Yeah, that actively annoyed me with the retardo-science bullshit.

This one actually looks kinda fun, and I'd happily watch Statham beat the crap out of somebody reading a phone book.
>>
>>215500142
this one has no illusions about being some high brow sci-fi thriller its unapologetic schlock and I love it for that

haha whoa dude

you just turned this thread into

ROASTS on mars! LOL!
>>
>>215500229
shut the fuck up Carlos I swear to god
>>
Oh wait, there was 'Mission to Mars' and 'Red Planet' that were infamously bad and happened in 2000, and somehow I lumped this in with them.

I remember at the time I had a choice of which one to watch. I watched the one with the whirlwind that kills astronauts near the Face on Mars even though it was there to be found or something. Not even the worst part.
>>
>>215500270
thats mission to mars right? I get those 2 mixed up all the time but I never get ghosts confused with either, I actually like ghosts of mars
>>
>>215494936
Might well be Carpenter's worst.
>>
>>215494936
>natasha henstridge not getting naked in a movie
>>
>>215500820
she asked over and over and even showed up on set naked one time, everyone kept trying to tell her this wasn't that kind of movie
>>
>>215500936
Wasted opportunity to have a Martian Sauna scene.
>>
>>215500968
>Martian Sauna
sounds like a sex move
>>
>>215500270
Yeah all these fuckin Mars movies at the same time didn't help any of these movies that were all a bit shit. Yeah Hollywood flood the market with the same shit all at once that will never backfire. They never learned their lesson. I never hear anyone reminiscing about Mission to Mars or Red Planet. Ghost of Mars is the only one that gets a little love simply because it's Carpenter. You think he wanted to cast a fat black rapper who can't act and certainly cannot do action. Nope.
>>
>>215501034
ghosts of mars is also a lot of fun where as the other 2 are just silly pieces of shit
>>
>>215500295

Red planet has the robot dog amy that malfunctions and tries to kill the crew.

Mission to mars i dont really remember except someguy takes off his helmet and freezes in space
>>
>>215501067
yeah thats true its ahead of the others for sure
>>
>>215501106
pretty sure mission to mars in the face of mars reveal at the end one, and yea all I remember about red planet is the robot dog goes bad
>>
>>
>>215501139
>>215501034
this brings me back when studios would do the same damn film two ways. Volcano, dantes peak etc, its all a jumbled memory kek
>>
>>215501180
This was in the fucking trailer and the only reason anyone watched this garbage.
>>
>>215501416
Deep Impact and Armageddon
>>
>>215501416
arrmegedon/deep impact, basically what happened was one studio would get wind that another was doing an xyz movie so they'd pull out a script and make their own
>>
>>215497580
Even Carpenter would disagree with you
>>
>>215500507
Have you seen The Ward?
