I wanna cry from how good DVDs look on my CRT. I keep wanting to take a picture to show but that, you know, doesn't convey. After years of compressed 720p on computer I can't believe it. It's like looking at real life, but much better

so thanks to the anon that reminded me you can rent DVDs at the library. FUCK the computer and the internet for watching movies
>>
From compressed 720p to compressed 480i.
>>
>>215495514
its not compressed. I assume that's what makes the vastly visible difference. If it was compressed a 5.7GB DVD wouldn't fit one movie it would fit like 5 to 15 depending on how shit a stream/yify/youtube etc we're talking

>40 years old

>no children
It's over for her

>its not compressed.
You are monumentally retarded. An uncompressed movie would be hundreds of gigabytes. Every single digital home media format is compressed.
>>
>>215495571
You're not the sharpest pencil in the box, eh.
>>
>>215495571
>its not compressed.
LMAO
>>
>>215495571
just because it's compressed less than a youtube video doesn't mean it isn't compressed, anon
>>
>>215495633
Literally, you are right but in spirit you are autistic because you know what i mean. There is obviously zero perceptible difference between a 480p movie encoded to 5 fucking GB and uncompressed. Whereas down to 1GB you might start seeing the compression. 480, remember. Think how much bitrate headroom that gives you vs even 720

well lookey an entire dork squadron to demonstrate how a little learning is a dangerous thing (a tedious thing in this case)
>>
>>215495477
That’s a man
>>
>>215495723
Bullshit. The difference is clear as day. Show me a DVD screenshot from any very grainy movie with a film grain pattern that has absolutely no compression artifacts. You won't, because you can't.

>>215495723
I do not agree. get glasses lil bro

>years of compressed 720p on computer
Poorfaggotry is such a sadness.
>>
>>215495853
i mean i don't even care about that but i can see the grain on the fistful of dollars paused right in front of me. i'm not going to take a picture, as i said it doesn't convey. I forgot there's people out there who actually fall for like, '4k' and that shit lmao. 'Just one more pixel count increase bro... just one more and we'll finally be happy'
>>
heard that crts have unlimited fps count, so that means I played felix the cat on my knock off nes in higher fps than I play games now
>>
I'm just going to keep snatching 1080p encodes from HDB/PTP/BTN
>>
>>215495976
Untrue. Just like with any other display type, the maximum framerate matches the display's refresh rate. For most CRTs that would be either 60hz or 50hz, depending on your region. CRTs do have excellent motion rendition, but you're not getting unlimited FPS counts, kek.
>>
>>215495976
Even if CRT screens could do unlimited fps (they can't) your retro game console still isn't outputting any more than 60fps.
>>
>>215495486
You can also tind them cheap at Salvation Army and GoodWill.
