No I think it's just supposed to be a mostly accurate depiction of the actual mob backed jewish casino mogul, Frank Lefty Rosenthal.

He was an actual person and most of the events in Casino actually happened. In fact some were toned down because the irl events were too outlandish for audiences to believe.

Sharon Stone was spot on casting, but De Niro, despite not being a male model Chad, is way more handsome than the actual Rosenthal, you can see Sharon Stones character actually falling in love with him, so casting him as this ugly ass turbo simp who has to use money to get laid at all was not really good casting, you need to have some ugly fuck in that role to make it believable, especially since De Niro facially moggs James Woods.
