Out of all the adaptable vdya and especially David Cage kino I feel like Heavy Rain would be the most well received. There really hasn't been a story like this in any television series/movie during the last 15 years. You can't compare it to traditional murder mysteries due to the quad protagonist setup. Why hasn't someone bought the rights? Why hasn't Cage chosen to adapt it himself??

Enderal for me.... pure kino sovl. The quest with that kid Ryneus man if they pulled that scene off it'd hit harder than the best of GOT
>>
Heavy Rain's plot was already an insane clusterfuck full of plot holes and unresolved setups, for example Ethan Mars blackouts which are never explained, but originally were conceived as him being psychically controlled by the origami killer. That idea was cut because it was stupid, yet his blackouts were kept in the final game.

As for why it was never bought to be adapted, it was never big enough to be adapted, and Chase is too much of a hack to succeed even in Hollywood.

>game that's made of direct copies of scenes from movies
>this would make a good movie
why are gamer nerds so fuckin stupid with this? Watch the movie Ransom for a start. Obviously other parts are copied from other movies that you already know

When david cage copies he even leaves like incidental stuff the same, because he can't seem to generalize or abstract away the essence. Like he didn't even change the names of the characters so you actually have to have the game character yelling "shaun" specifically in the game like mel gibson does. The movie where he notices his kid is missing after watching the kid's red balloon going away in the crowd. It had to be red still

Seconded. Also this one
>>
>>215498508
All ps5 games naturally translate to movies since its cutscene after another. I bet Sony could reuse the mocap too kek
>>
>>215498684
>makes a movie about Detroit
>it's all about robots
>one of them is a cop

BRAVO CAGE
>>
>>215498676
The only "clusterfuck" is what you said the origami stuff. I think it's perfectly acceptable to leave that open/unexplained but it's fairly easy to tack on some bullshit excuse for why he had blackouts like some past trauma flashback. You're making a mounting out of a molehill

>>215498684
You do realize Joker heavily ripped off/paid homage to King of Comedy and Network right?? Nobody says Joker wasn't a great film because of that do they fuckwit? I doubt many current audiences have even seen that Ransom film you're talking about. I'm a 30 year old film buff and I've never seen it. Stop assuming everyone understands every reference pseud
>>
>>215498727
You do realize you’re an old retarded faggot that didn’t get the point
>>
>>215498753
>you didn't get the point of this (2010) game

Yea, I did and I don't need some other references to old media to appreciate it, retard
>>
>>215498727
They should do an indigo prophecy game.
>>
>>215498780
I've played through most of it but didn't complete it. Loved the first half the 2nd went off the rails. I appreciate all of David Cage's work but Heavy Rain was easily his Magnum Opus. Detroit Become Human, Indigo Prophecy and Beyond Two Souls don't come close
>>
>>215498727
>The only "clusterfuck" is what you said the origami stuff.

There's plenty more, like Scott Shelby going through all the effort to "catch" the Origami killer despite that making no sense because he is the killer including going into the line of fire risking his own life.

Why does the girl character help Ethan at all when he's incredibly sketchy, bleeding and she finds out he's wanted for possibly being a serial killer? The entire plot is just nonsense.

>>215498727
>Nobody says Joker wasn't a great film because of that do they fuckwit?

I do. It's derivative trash. A glib facsimile if you will.

The Shelby stuff is him covering his tracks it's so easily explained. The only thing people take issue with is his "inner thoughts" which were poorly handled I'll admit. As for Joker it's not a global facsimile it's a beautiful compilation and you know it

Nha, let it rest. They'd make it weird and gay
inFAMOUS cannot be adapted because it's pure late 2000s-early-2010s edgykino
Dickless critics would hate it

It's an entire game free on Steam if you've bought the actual game. I never bought Skyrim on PS3 originally my gf bought it for me but I loved the game. Enderal is infinitely better
>>
>>215498508
I loved that fucking game. And yes, it's ripe for a film.

Anybody download the level where you're the female reporter investigating a possible serial killer. That was fun.
>>
>>215498799
>Detroit Become Human
>Beyond Two Souls
I liked those games but felt they were too linear. No decisions really mattered in the grand narrative of things.
>>
>>215498813
>Scott Shelby going through all the effort
That's easily explained away as he was just actively covering his tracks using his real job as a Detective as his cover.
>>
>>215499960
Detroit feels linear? There are a lot of different endings and variables depending on what you did, if a character lived or died, etc. Connor could get shut down, Marcus could be dead/other random small stuff, Alice and co. could have died in canada in a boat or succeeded in the processing plant only if the robot from earlier in the game (that they helped, if successful) saved them.

Yeah it's not huge, but there are quite a lot of branching paths desu.
>>
>>215500106
I guess so. To be fair, I plays these games in two ways, first I try to win. Do a replay later, try to lose. Heavy Rain will legit kill characters especially on HEAVY MODE.

I didn't even make it past the first stage, I dove in front of a car and saved my son, getting killed in the process. 11 mins, 42 secs. Game over, but I won cause I was a good Dad.
>>
>>215498813
Bro. Did you not notice Scott Shelby’s whole “investigation” was just him confirming the parents didn’t talk about the boxes he left them, then him taking the evidence and destroying it?
>>
Why the fuck was Scott still gonna shoot Ethan even when you succeed in all the trials and he says he was looking for a father who cared enough this whole time?
>>
>>215498820
>>215498840
you know he FULLY modeled her, right. Might even be a contributing factor for why she lost her mind. The advancement in AI and those detailed models are an interesting combination, which i am surprised hasn't been utilized. It would also be funny if she sees them
>>
>>215500679
How else would he get away with it? Can't just leave the guy alive after he knows the truth.
>>
>nobody mentioning Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit
Wow. It was pretty good until the superpowers reveal.
>>
>>215498508
SHAAAAAUUUUN
>>
Another piece of woke slop depicting white fathers as terrible. So bad in fact they will lose not one but two of their children! Dont breed with white men ladies, choose the safer more responsible father, the black man.

I dont know if any one else got that from this story but once you see it its clear as day!
>>
>>215500795
That's the best part. Its a powerful message to the suicidal that things can get better than you imagined.
>>
>>215498582
Top kino to be adapted
>>
>>215500812
You didn't like having to strip naked in the club as the hot reporter girl? I actually had sex with the club owner and found out later that was a bad thing.
>>
>>215498813
>Why does the girl character help Ethan at all when he's incredibly sketchy, bleeding and she finds out he's wanted for possibly being a serial killer?
If you played more than one David Cage you will notice that he has a thing for short-haired women, shower scene and attempted rapes. You just know he's self-inserting as the male mc and he takes pleasure in them falling (inexplicably) head over heels for him.
>>
David Cage is unironically a genius and one of the few people in the entirety of video game history that pushed the medium forward.
>>
>>215498582
this shit sucks
>>
>>215501027
Does he have another upcoming game on deck? I love all the Heavy Rain knockoffs.

>>215498508
They should make a film called Heavy Pee and explore the fetish of pissing in girl's mouths. HBO's "Real Sex" used to tackle those topics.

You can actually take a piss in Heavy Rain whenever there's a bathroom.
>>
>>215498727

I did and still do faggot
>>
>>215500795
That opening scene in the diner is genuinely one of the greatest moments in video game history. All that interactivity and choice is like a glimpse into what games could have been.

>JAY-SUUUN!
Despite the memes, the game was kino.
I came so close to platinuming the game too, but for that fucking car trial.
When I got to the end and rescuing the kid, I was as frantic as I would be had that been my son in the well.
I haven't played it for many years, but I don't think any game has put me in the character's shoes like that moment did.
