appalachia is certainly deep and dark, ghettos are shitholes and all but the places in america where american industry made for thriving blu collar towns until tje jobs were no longer there and with that entire towns vanished leaving extremely sparse elderly homeowners and trailers park types that get by on drugs, all these towns look like secret magical fairy villages that were lost in the wilderness until some wayward adventurer came across the remnants
