>In the early 2000s, Val Kilmer pitched a sequel to "Heat" in which his character, Chris Shiherlis, seduces Natalie Portman's now adult character, Lauren Gustafson, in order to gain access to her stepfather, Al Pacino's Detective Vincent Hanna, and exact revenge for the death of his crew in the first film, only to become conflicted as he begins to genuinely care for Lauren, but by that time he was no longer considered a viable leading man and there was no interest in following up on the original film, especially without director Michael Mann's involvement.

is that a thing that happens? Are there men capable of just picking a woman and saying, "I'm going to seduce her"?

That certainly sounds kino but I can't imagine fans of the first enjoying a Heat sequel that isn't also about bank robbing. They'd have had to include at least one bank robbery sequence (even if it's just a flashback) to sate the masses.

“Down a winding pathway in a garden old,
tripped a beauteous maiden, but her heart was cold.
Came a prince to woo her, said he loved her true;
maiden said he didn’t, so he ceased to woo.
Came a perfumed noble — dropping on one knee;
Said his love was deeper, than the deepest sea.
But the winsome maiden, said his love was dead,
and the perfumed noble, accepted what she said.

Came a dashing Stranger, took her off by force;
said he’d make her love him, and she did — of course.”

the ahiherlis subplot is almost as annoying as the Hannah sp. thief was better because of this.

wasnt there a pusy slip from natalie in the movie????

If you look like 90s Val Kilmer? Most definitely.

It's the oldest trick in the book for intelligence operators, speaking of, they were planning to remake Smiley's People with Oldman returning as the lead righter after Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy but it got shut down by Le Carré's estate for some reason.

It’s literally a skill issue

Holy yapslop. I don't give a fuck about any of the characters, I want a le epic digital moodpiece that will become appreciated 10 years after its initial release.

I remember Peter Straughan saying it was likely to be a mix of Smiley’s People and The Honourable Schoolboy. Not sure how that would have worked but still a shame they didn’t make another one

the first heat sucked so I doubt a sequel would have been any better

I wish we got to know what their problem with Oldman was, I thought his performance was on par with or better than Alec Guinness.
Maybe he was just too tall to play George Smiley.

>Yeah I just wanted to bang Natalie Portman.

Understandable.

>could never get to reprise his Willow role proper
>could never get a DC cameo
Life's unfair

Outside a few great parts I think it's pretty overrated too
