Peckinpah had a cuckold fetish. Most of his movies feature the female love interest cheating on her man, a few times because they get raped, but usually not, and even the ones that got raped started to enjoy it after a while. I think the most blatant case is The Getaway, where the entire conflict of the movie is about Steve McQueen struggling to accept his woman fucking some guy to get him out of jail, while the secondary plot revolves around a criminal taking a guy and his wife hostage and fucking her until the guy kills himself.
