charlie sheen was offered a starring role in karate kid but had already signed on for a small role in Grizzly II which was to be shot in Budapest. His father told him to do the shitty bear movie because he gave his word and it would come back to haunt him if he backed out.Grizzly II didn't get a proper release until 2020 and karate kid went on to be one of the biggest movies of the 80s.
