Was "the black guy dies first" ever really a thing, or is it just something that everyone agreed on so that they could sound non-racist by condemning it even if it wasn't ever a real phenomenon?First off, you'd need to leave out any particularly old horror films or ones made in Asia, since those pretty much all didn't have black people in them. Let's look at some of the most famous horror films that have several kills (even if they aren't technically slashers), weren't made long ago and weren't made in Asia or other countries with next to no black people:>JawsOnly white people die.>PsychoOnly white people die.>HalloweenOnly white people die.>Night of the Living DeadA black guy is one of the last survivors. >The ThingA black guy is one of the last survivors.>AlienA black guy is one of the last survivors.>Dawn of the DeadAll different sorts of people die, mostly white and Hispanic. >A Nightmare on Elm StreetOnly white people die.>The ShiningThe first deaths we see are the two little girls, though they died in the past, so technically the black guy dies first from the point the movie starts, but there are only two modern deaths in the whole movie anyway. >28 Days LaterA black soldier is turned into a zombie, but he's nowhere near the first.>Friday the 13thOnly white people die.>ScreamOnly white people die. So where are all of these horror movies where the black guy dies first? It's certainly not reflected in the most famous horror movies. I guess you could say that there aren't too many horror films where a black person is the LAST one alive, but that's not the claim. The funny thing is, I think that Jordan Peele's Get Out is the only horror film I can think of that I've seen where a black guy is the first victim.
Why are americans so obsessed with black cock? Get over it already, god.
The Blackening was quite a shit movie. The guy with the glasses was vaguely amusing.
like everything involving them it's just self-serving bullshit
>>215508797It was only evidence of black narcissism. They literally didn't even notice when the first white person died, so then when a black died, they thought it was the first death. They don't consider white people to be human, generally.
>>215508797I think in the 9th season of american horror story the black guy dies first, and IIRC shark bait pulls a bait and switch and makes you think the black guy dies first only to have him show up alive later only having lost an arm to the shark, also the scream sequels have black characters, think Omar Epps is the first one to die in Scream 2.
>>215508797>>Jaws>Only white people die.>>Psycho>Only white people die.>>Halloween>Only white people die.>>A Nightmare on Elm Street>Only white people die.>>Friday the 13th>Only white people die.>>Scream>Only white people die.I mean, there are only white people in these movies (at least among the main cast), so this would check out.
>>215509361Okay, but the complaint isn't "there aren't enough black people in horror movies", the complaint is "the black guy always dies first". Most of the greatest horror films either don't have a black guy or they have one but he doesn't die first. Both are marks against the "black guy dies first" narrative.
>>215508797When Zeddemore lived to the end of Ghostbusters Ernie Hudson became a hero for subverting that. This was an actual thing.
>>215508797It's just a meme. There's no evidence of black people dying first in movies more than white people
see too: "blacks are always the rapists and gang members in films!!"I cant remember a single film in the last 35 years that did this. Even the black gang members are being controlled by evil whites
>>215509589That isn't really evidence of anything other than people believing that the black guy usually died first. They could easily have been celebrating the perceived subversion of something that wasn't even real.
it’s a meme from the tokenism era, where the black character was only included to tick a box.
>>215509633Ok, I'll trust some zoomer over my own memories of horror films from the 1980s
>>215509675Can you name some of those films?
>>215509675You haven't even listed any movies that support your narrative. If you want to be taken seriously, present evidence. Saying "I was there!!" isn't evidence in itself.
>>215508797It's just a bit of a Mandela effect, it was originally just usually that the Black Guy was guaranteed to die but I think one of the Scary Movies made the joke that Black Guys die first and people kept repeating that.
>>215509633Paging jesse jackson we have a problem here
>>215509613
>>215508858I thought it was way better than what I was expecting. I had a theater with black people yelling "shoot heeem" and "aaww hell naww" which added to the experience though.
Okay, so TvTropes lists a number of movies where the black guy dies first. Of these films, the VAST majority are not in the horror genre, and it also includes movies like The Bucket List, where the whole thing is following two old men and the black one happens to die first at the very end. There are some horror movies, most of which I've never even heard of, but here are the ones that have any sort of relevance:>Aliens (if you count it as a horror movie and not an action one)>American Psycho>Christine>Gremlins (again, if you consider it horror)>Scream 2 (this is done somewhat as a 'self aware' parody of the idea that black people die first in horror movies)And then there's a whole section on parodies of the trope. Christine is probably THE best example, as it is a well-known horror film where a black guy indeed does die first and it isn't done as a cheeky reference to the "black guy dies first" narrative. It should go without saying that this list pales in comparison to the vast majority of horror films, where a black guy does not die first.
>>215508797In horror movies, when there’s a group of characters, usually only one or a couple survive. If there’s a Black character who isn’t the lead, he often gets killed too, which is what created the meme. The funny thing is that even now people believe the meme and think that still continues to happen in movies.
>>215510127American psycho isn't a horror
>>215508797Same thing for "being pulled over while black" trope that was shilled in media and culture for years to push the racist cop narrative. Meanwhile their is no disparity between crime rates and interactions with cops among blacks, they literally just commit way more crime than anyone else.
