Just watched the first episode of the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. Never saw it when it came out, apart from a couple disconencted episodes, of which I don't remember the content at all. I thought the first episode was overall decent, but I found the character of Roslin absolutely insufferable. Nobody in their right mind would allow such a retard to be in charge. She's some school teacher, during a war of extinction, ordering military ships to do civilian evacuation, risking their destruction.

In history, what happens in moments like these is that the incompetent "legitimate" authority gets deposed by a more competent one. Please tell me that she dies ASAP in the series. Requires too much suspension of disbelief to imagine her staying in power during such a crisis.

In other words, is this show the American type, where "democracy" is worshipped as something divine, with the sheep following le "rule of law".
