Taylor Sheridan To Leave Paramount For Big Film & TV Deal At NBCUniversal

https://deadline.com/2025/10/taylor-sheridan-leaving-paramount-film-tv-deal-nbcuniversal-1236598297
>>
>>215517480
So he's still going to work at Paramount for 3 more years before this deal starts?
>>
>>215517480
What movies and shows did this cowboy type guy make?
>>
>>215517480
Why is Universal buying him at his actual peak? Who's in charge over there?
>>
>>215517480
all I want from him is a landman s02 with less woman talking scenes
>>
>>215517687
Risky move. They're paying top dollar for a guy who's hot now for what his output will be 3-8 years from now. I guess all these services are desperate for content and his has proven to get audiences and keep them invested but you're gambling on him still being able to churn out series people are interested in years from now. His output or what audiences want can very easily change in that time frame.
>>
>>215517480
He’s a massive liberal faggot and Larry and David Ellison are big conservatives and Trump supporters. So no shocker
>>
>>215517803
I don't think this has anything to do with politics aside from possibly Universal wanting to expand their offerings to conservative audiences who seemingly love Sheridan's rancher series.
>>
>>215517687
They’re not. He’s leaving because doesn’t like Paramount’s new owners. Supposedly not happy not having control over budgets of his expensive shows and them not approving of his producers
>>
>>215517480
Great jawline, cowboy phenotype
>>
>>215517837
> conservative audiences who seemingly love Sheridan's rancher series.

I don’t get it at all. It’s most woke trash. All male’s are total morons. All girl bosses. Bunch Indians “you stole muh land”
>>
>>215517857
>He’s leaving because doesn’t like Paramount’s new owners.
source?
>>
>>215517891
It's fauxservative.
>>
>>215517895
> But the Skydance-Paramount merger came with top executive changes too, including the departure of Paramount Global co-CEO Chris McCarthy who was directly involved in the Taylor Sheridan business. The previous regime was known for giving Sheridan a lot of leeway with budgets and control over production, with costs running high and shows often filmed at Sheridan’s ranches

>>
>>215517965
That doesn't suggest he's leaving due to the change in management or even that his leeway with budgets and production will be ending or changed in any way, simply that it was something he was afforded under the previous executives.

John Dutton was smart as fuck in Yellowstone. Beth was vicious. Kaycee was competent.
In Landman, Tommy and Cooper are smart while the ex-wife and daughters are dumb sluts. That lawyer is smart with laws shit, but a dumb lib.

from Puck:

>Sheridan also met with Donna Langley, the longtime Universal film chief who recently took over television programming for NBCU. Sheridan is a pretty astute industry observer, and he was intrigued by the creative and lucrative home that Langley has fostered for filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Chris Nolan, Jordan Peele, and Chris Meledandri. (Remember, before he was a TV power, Sheridan was a rising filmmaker, earning an Oscar nomination for his script for Hell or High Water.)

>At the same time, Sheridan has long admired TV juggernauts like Dick Wolf and Lorne Michaels, who have produced for NBCU for decades. So as the film talks progressed, Langley inquired about Sheridan’s plans for TV after ’28. He’s said to have seen in Universal a place where he would be treated like an elite filmmaker while also producing the kind of elevated TV serials for which he has become known. Shortly thereafter, Langley and her top dealmaker, Jimmy Horowitz, were hammering out a macro arrangement for all of Sheridan’s output as it becomes available.

>Yet behind the scenes, Sheridan was hearing about how Paramount+ needed to be revamped, and about how expensive his shows had become. (Some, like Lioness and the Yellowstone spinoff 1923, carried budgets in the range of $15 million to $20 million an episode, while others, like Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown, cost much less.)

>In addition, the Skydance takeover meant the exit of Chris McCarthy and Keyes Hill-Edgar, two execs who worked closely with Sheridan, and several others who will be swept away in the massive layoffs that will begin this week. Then, when Warners decided to make F.A.S.T., a movie script Sheridan wrote before his Paramount deal, Ellison tried to secure distribution in some markets, annoying Sheridan.

The NFL is giga-liberal but conservatives still eat that slop up
>>
>>215518151
Yup. Got to pick battles I guess. I can watch a game and ignore they all hate my guts
>>
>>215517803
Literally makes no difference, when both parties fund their cronies with tax dollars or printed money (IOU) out of thin air. It's like the teams in sports ball don't really matter, they just move around, puff their chests do mic drops for the millions divvyed among them. The "rap battles" keep the audience engaged.
>>
>>215517803
>He’s a massive liberal faggot
No one liberal owns a ranch.
>>
>>215518355
Ted Turner
>>
>>215517891
mainstream conservative isn't about principles or values or anything like that. You still 100% agree with all the left-wing liberal faggotry but you BRAND conservative with the cowboy hat patriotism, some faggoty appeal to capitalism and the protestant work ethic while jews loot the wealth of your country and some superficial appeal to gun ownership, not in the sense that you can shoot nogs who threaten your life, but as a collector's item.
>>
so what happens to sheridan's studio?

>>
>>215517687
He peaked with Sicario
>>
>>215517803
He may not be the most conservative guy in a cowboy hat but hes certainly not a massive liberal faggot and he writes red blooded americana for boomers who believe in frontier justice
>>
>>215518566
conservatives certainly want to be able to shoot nogs that threaten your life we're just not permitted by powers that be most of the time, still if you shoot a nigger that broke into your house your 10 times more likely to get off scott free if you're in a red state
>>
>>215519056
That is arguably true for 1923 or Landman but the main Yellowstone series has the appearance of the thing but spits fucking acid on the essence/morality of frontier justice.

The modern Duttons are a unhinged fucking cult, them assassinating the depressed coroner in e2 just because they didn't want to bribe a drug addict was despicable.
>>
>>215518855
id say Hell or High Water

>>215518136
his best content was a decade ago but still he produces popular shows one after the other consistently, I'd argue he'll be a valuable content creator for another 20 years because hes cornered the wannabe badass boomer market, hopefully he makes something like Justified thats better than all his shows
>>
>>215517480
the slop man
>>
>>215519131
i really didn't care for the yellowstone series, its his movies and a few shows like Landman and Tulsa King I found entertaining. yellowstone I tried but when I heard of the ending I gave up on trudging through the show, 1923 I watched for the historical aesthetic and some of it was pretty good but the ending with the wife trying to drive through the snow was fucking morbid
>>
>>215519172
oh and the native girl being treated like a hero for murdering a nun and then killing that ranger/martial's partner and immediately being vouched for and let go free was insane
>>
>>215519213
The nuns were torturing her and 1 was sexually absive?
>>
>>215519330
Bump
>>
>>215517518
Hell or High Water
Landman
Lioness
Mayor of Kingstown
Sicario
Tulsa King
Wind River
>>

Bump
>>
>>215518855
Creatively maybe. But financially he'll never be more expensive to work with than right now
>>
>>215518845
Now Universal has to pay Sheridan to shoot there

Taylor gets to double dip on his shows (again)
>>
>>215522985
taylor sounds like a real life cowboy
>>
They couldn't have taken the billion for South Park and thrown it at Sheridan instead? Seems like it'd be a better spend
>>
>>215523419
What will Paramount's flagship series be once Sheridan goes? I know Dexter Resurrection was massive for them and is now their most streamed ever show but you would think they need something else. They can't be the Dexter and South Park network 3 years from now if they want to keep their audiences.
>>
>>215517480
is paramount retarded? this means they'll lose at least half their audience

>Ought to let it just turn me to ashes, put me out of my misery. 21st century, I'm racing a fire to the river with a herd of cattle. And I wonder why my kids won't do this shit for a living.
>>
>>215523536
Obviously the answer is the Ellisons and Paramount think WB/HBO will be their flagship by then
>>
Okay, TS will still be around to finish Tulsa King and Landman. Via con Dios.
>>
>>215523870
Ellison is probably banking on acquiring WBD
>>
>>215517707
It's Landmaam
