>Wednesday Season 3 will come out in over a yearWhy does it take as long as a movie to make a season of a TV show? Mental.
>why does a 6+ hour long show take longer to make than a 2 hour movie?
filming schedules and no syndication
>>215521858It doesn't. It's just a means of milking subscribers with as little content as possible. Old TV like House they wrote scripts, built sets and filmed the same week it aired. You'd think for such a huge investment writers would be working year round but no, never happened.
>>215521903They used to crank out 20 episodes a year back in the day. No excuse for this laziness.
Need Snood now. Can't wait till 2027.
>>215522033yeah and go watch those shows. zero cgi. just some actors in real locations filming where they just talk.
>>215522095So, you like computer generated images.
>>215522115not particularly i'd take models over cgi any day
>>215522139>now I'm turning your silver pants blueFag.
>>215522033They didn't show those episodes at once either. You watched them over a year and the next seasons dropped the next year. Surpsingly that's a more sustainable model. Binge watching has wrecked people's expectations on how long it actually takes time to do shit.
actors are at fault. they used to be contracted for one show and maybe something smaller during the year but these days they're all shooting multiple shows or movies at the same time.
>Jenna will be in her 30's in the last season while still playing a highschooler
>>215522082
>>215522033and 16 of them were just filler
>>215521858Evie my beloved
>>215522431Adore her
>>215523264I thought the Zika virus killed newborns.
>>215522033A full regular season for a TV show was 24 episodes a year. >>215521858Hopefully in the mean time people will lose interest and that show will be DOA when it finally arrives. >>215521911>no syndicationTheir fucking fault. Networks don't want to do syndication any more in their efforts to hoard content for their streaming channels, so the piss away revenue-stream opportunities left and right with no fucks given.
>>215523478Pedantic fucking nigger, who do you think is paying the production companies big bucks for syndicated reruns? Cable networks with constantly dwindling subscribers and carriage fees? OTAs like MyTV with their main income being increasingly worthless commercial slots? The big 4 networks can just use their own reruns if they really wanted to.
>>215522288there's nothing wrong with "filler" plotfag
Even sitcoms which are the cheapest and easiest to film have decreased and gone down in quality. The writers are to blame.
>>215523889
>>215521941If they were milking subscribers, they wouldn't drop the entire season all at once.>>215522033Back in the day? Some shows I worked on the past couple of years cranked out a season of 20-25 episodes in about 9-10 months, including pre-production and moving desks into the office. But as >>215522095 says, those existed in the present reality, no fantastical sets or wardrobe.Though one 9 episode series I worked did span production over 3 years, finally premiering this summer.

>>215521858Little known fact: Jenna is a tiny puppet and must be animated using stop-motion.
