Yeah, it was made before people needed "serious" episodes focusing on drama in a comedy, origins stories and multiverses, what you got was daily adventures of titular character and company.

original KotH is definitely kino. I've been watching the first five seasons over the past few weeks. one thing I noticed now is how much of an asshole Hank is
>doesn't tell his best friend Dale his wife is cucking him
>doesn't make any attempt to help his friend Bill with depression
>tries to mold Bobby into his idealized version of himself
>Peggy is a straight up bitch
>Puts his thankless job for Buck above everything else, including his family and friends, even though Buck treats him like shit
>Cotton is a grumpy old asshole but turns out to be right about most things
>Dale also ends up being proven right about most of his crazy conspiracy theory rants
the early seasons have plenty of Luanne fanservice

The funny part is that in the remake Bobby does become like his father. In so much as he becomes a workaholic for a boss who gives him no credit. All of Hanks negative qualities.
