>inherits bajilion dollars worth of gold

he could at least give them some money for all the things they've done for him, instead he allows them to live in crumbling shack and pass clothes from older to younger kids, what the FUCK was his problem?

maybe Ron's dad is keeping money aside for his own personal enjoyment when he's in London while his family is in middle of the woods taking care of pigs, idk I wouldn't know anything about that
>>

he wasn't raised properly and can barely function

their dad was a classic boomer father that is rarely home, spends hundreds of galleons on stuff he "can fix up" or "figure out", and makes his wife be the one to say "no, we can't have that, we don't have the money" when she's in town with the kids and they see a used racing broom in a store window for a couple sickles. He gets to come home with something he bought for the kids and they adore him for it

He gave the prize money from the tournament to the twins though.

The whole point was that they were broke because they had like 8 kids. Compare that to the Malfoys who only had one.

the instant they said "fuck everyone, we work for us and ourselves", yeah.

even if Malfoys had 8 kids they would still live in mansion because they had servants and house elves to take care of them

it's a sick combination move you pulled. you don't know but you chose to ask. about some kid's series from 25 years ago written by an abused manhating roastie. all with an air of "i've already decided it's stupid" which is completely unnecessary because it *IS* stupid, like everything else produced by abused roasties.

by being so brash you've lent credence to a series of books that deserves none. hence you are a retard

If you can provide us concrete evidence that these threads are made by jeets/shills then I'll start posting cp/embedding cp in images I know people here will save in them.
It's the same handful of threads over and over so I've got no issue doing it if its really either of those.

But you don't even need currency. House falling apart? Renovate it with magic. Clothes are old? Turn them into new ones. Soup and bread for dinner? Abracadabra, now it's roast lamb and vegetables. You should want for nothing.

the reason for their poverty is repeatedly implied to be entirely because the dad is eccentric/a muggle lover and can't fit in or find success at his government job because they all consider muggles farm animals, he's like a bleeding heart fed arguing for DEI in 2025 and barely hanging on to his job by the skin of his ass

There was a magic charm on that house that meant he couldn't be assassinated there for some reason. He should have just bought the Durselys out and sent them packing.

It's a "blink and you'll miss it" moment, but it's mentioned in passing that regular technological items break apart when too close to too much magic.

So every single item they buy that isn't mundane must be magical, as well, which I imagine costs a pretty penny.

Because the nature of that protection meant he HAD to live with blood relatives in order for it to work.

The smart move would be to have Dumbledore raise him, but we all know why they didn't agree to that. Next best bet would be Minerva, dont know why they didn't go with that option.

Dunno but one of them finds the idea that people muggles would pay someone to treat and repair their teeth absolutely stupefying so presumably he can just magic his teeth brushed every morning and magic a toothache or tooth decay away. The world of magic doesn't seem to have a great deal of consistency and the answer to when things can work or when they cannot generally seems to be "cause magic".
I get it was originally a story for kids but just feels like there's some glaring oversights.

its usually drugs... but it could be gambling or he might have another couple of secret families too. He works for government and his legitimate family is already huge but his wife is kind of a cow, my guess is its a second family thats where the money is going.

Harry being rich really didn't need to be a plot point and honestly caused more problem in the story because so many of his issues could have been fixed with his vast fortune.

It's Britain, the gold is magically tracked and you aren't allowed to spend it in any way contrary to the wishes of the government and the goblins who control the banks and media.

>he could at least give them some money
The Weasleys are too proud to take his money. They repeatedly refuse his offers.
To quote a different book series, "The less you have, the more your pride is worth."

He tries to give Fred and George a small fortune and he had to threaten them to get them to take the money. He said if they didn't take the money he'd hex them and throw it away.
Even then, Fred and George only accepted it as a loan rather than a gift.
>>
>>215523412
You technically have the ability to grow your own food, build your own furniture, and sew your own clothes.
Do you do it? No, you pay people who specialize in those things.
Same with magic.
>>
>>215523117
the money also grow and shrink depending on the plot, at first you think harry is stacked for life with generational wealth but by the 3rd book he is to save and only buy school supplies, in 6th book he is filthy rich again because he is the heir to sirius black (seriously, he has the potter and black money, without considering ginny's money from her quiditch career
>>
>>215523412
Same reason bongs pay a tee vee license
>>
but he did give back to them the prize from the tournament to fred and george, the weasleys would've rejected the money if he tried giving it to them
>>
>>215528732
>by the 3rd book he is to save and only buy school supplies
No, he just held back from buying a Firebolt because it was very expensive and he still had a very good broom.
He was just being responsible with his money.
>>
>>215523463
Lucius also had a better paying job. He was like a Senator or something while Arthur was the equivalent of a Codes Inspector.
>>
>>215524002
As said >>215524034 there was a charm Lily had placed on him before she died that allowed him to not be tracked so long as he was in a relative's home.
>Petunia was his only living relative, and Minerva even makes a comment about them being terrible people to which Albus reiterates that they are his only family
>the spell lasts until his 18th birthday, which is why the Dursleys have to move and the Order has to use the Seven Harrys plan to get him to the Weasley burrow
>Sirius is only his Godfather, not an actual relative, so the charm does not extend to him and his place
