https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DhSyFrxTxocHe still got it, bros.
Is he turning into the thing?
yeah that was exactly what I expected
I love how you can hear how mad she is at his answer when she asks him to elaborate
>>215526202I love John but fuck he's got some awful taste in video games.
>>215526246She got Lynched.
>>215526202Disappointingly, I agree. I had at least decent hopes for it, but yeah it was shit, really repetitive and on the nose, not funny, not clever, just nothing.
>>215526271Yeah watched it a few nights ago, I was expecting more. Seemed to be more made for women and maybe that's why it was really on the nose and simple.
>>215526255He was like 40 when video games came outyou're gonna have some weird taste xD
>>215526246It's typcially a lot easier to talk in an interesting way about how you don't like something, or talk about the flaws in something you're mostly positive on than to say anything at all about a work you just love entirely top to bottom. That he didn't have any way to expand on something he says he hated makes it seems like he's just lying about having seen it at all, if anything, which is pretty pathetic. If he wanted to dismiss it so lazily, why not just say he didn't see it because it looked terrible, or something?
I didn't think it was clever or anything besides entertaining. The ending was like rated r goosebumps and that I liked, I dont think Carpenter is a fan of goosebumps
>>215526271>>215526299If it was one hour shorter than it was, it would have been a good horror movie (for modern standards at least). When I was 2 hours in and the director was still doing those awful closed-up shots of the male characters telling the young chick that she looked beautiful or whatever, I was like>"Yeah dude, I got it..."
It was fun.
>>215526301I don't wanna do the math but surely he must've only been early thirties or maybe even late twenties during the heyday of Arcade stuff like Pac-Man.
Are roasties trying to cancel John Carpenter now?
>>215526202I'm surprised he's watched it. I thought he was gonna say "Sorry I was too busy playing Borderlands The Pre-Sequel"
>>215526328Elaborating is for simpletons. John is an elite and pioneer.
John Carpenter? The director of The Ward (2010) and Ghosts of Mars?
>>215526328He owes her no explanation.
>>215526740Born: January 16, 1948 Pac-man released: May 22, 1980
>>215526912It's astonishing that arcades went from Pac-Man to R-Type in just 7 years.
>>215526899We all make mistakes.
>>215526899Ghost of Mars rules though, even if it's not a good movie.
>>215527024Dont make me think about vidya right now bro, Im trying to cut back on my addiction
>>215526912So yeah early thirties then. I'm pretty sure he's been into vidya since those days.
>>215526202I thought it was at least watchable and had some redeeming qualities, but it's really refreshing to see somebody not performatively gushing over and sucking this movie's dick for once
>>215526299>Yeah watched it a few nights ago, I was expecting more. Seemed to be more made for women and maybe that's why it was really on the nose and simple.I have no desire to see it and I never will. "widely acclaimed" horror of recent years always turns out to be astroturfed garbage, so I'll correctly assume that is true about the Substance.
>>215527024They went from Pong to Pac-Man in about the same timeframe. The medium evolved rapidly
>>215527214I just got done playing some Megabonk. Just unlock 'Spaceman.' But my go to right now is 'Megachad.'
>>215526225He's probably more cigarette tar than man at this point
>>215526202He looks like he's on a substance alright
John carpenter will die in the next 0-5 years
>>215526202nigga lookin to marry a green eyed woman
>>215526202>I went to the first few (Masters of Horror dinners), and it was a lot of fun. It was just fun. Just have dinner, talk, insult each other, and tell jokes>Then, you know, it sort of became something else.>I think the night that got me was when David Cronenberg showed up and he is an old friend of mine. Unfortunately, he takes himself so seriously these days. He is an artist now,>And literally, he was holding court in the middle of the room, and I came over to talk to him and he didn’t even look at me. I thought this is enough of this. Forget it. Goodbye.>Eli Roth and his Hollywood hair... let him rule now. Darren Aronosfky secretly I think hates horror movies. Let the geniuses go. Let them be geniuses
>>215526759what male aren't they trying to cancel? Remember chud, patriarchy and shieet!
John Carpenter is the Bret Hart of horror movies.
>>215529295If you zoom in on his forehead it makes your phone screen dusty.
>>215529295People tried to warn you about the jews, John.
>>215529295Best hater in the biz right now.
