For starters I have not seen it. However, most of the people who I see complaining about this show also seem to be people who like the prequels, and all the criticisms they throw at this show seem applicable to the prequels. So what's the deal?
>>

>Was it as bad as people say?
No, it was actually worst.
>>
The power of one
The power of two
The power of TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNYYYYYYYYYYYYY
>>
>>215526361
I don't know what this is a reference to.
>>
>>215526360
But why though? What makes it worse than the prequels? The prequels had stilted dialogue, wooden acting, horrible cgi, and terrible pacing, and yet a lot of the same people who dog on this show treat the prequels like they were misunderstood masterworks.
>>
>>215526393
Yes, you do, you liar. Everyone who has even vaguely heard about Acolyte knows about this scene. If you somehow don't, but have still somehow heard other "criticisms" levied by the "prequel fans" - not this one, but every other criticism - look at this.

If you recoil at black women like this board does, then you are obviously going to hate it

If not, it's pretty good. Not perfect but a second season would have had more potential than all of Mando combined. choreography and worldbuilding easily made up for questionable characterization and story beats
>>
>>215526419
This looks like the typical cheesiness you'd expect from star wars, sorry but you cannot convince me this isn't totally in line with the sort of silly shit Lucas would have pulled in the prequels.
>>
>>215526341
The action was pretty cool. Reminded me of wuxia. Everyone hates that the protagonists and antagonists are black and asian. I thought the main black chicken who played the two black chicks was kinda fuckable. People definitely hated that the strong sith dude was a jungle asian. They had Darth Plagueis on screen for a split second.
>>
>>215526444
No, I don't think that George Lucas would have had black feminist witches straight from tumblr conceiving lesbo twins through chanting slogans. I don't even think that you believe in it either, you are here to start shit.
>>
>>215526480
He wanted to use Darth Talon in a movie because he thought she was hot, the Night Sisters are more or less also lesbian witches, and he thought that the Gungans were a good idea. I think your judgement is clouded with culture war none sense.
>>
>>215526512
>He wanted to use Darth Talon in a movie because he thought she was hot
Exactly.
> the Night Sisters are more or less also lesbian witches
They're witches, but they're not lesbians, and if you look at this video and see night sisters, you are absolutely not posting in good faith.
>Culture war
Lol.

Black women existing does not equal woke.

>What's so interesting about that moment, where Osha kills Sol, is how much is conveyed even while he's choking on his words. Also, and maybe this was my impression of it, but my first thought was, “He doesn't even give her the agency to make this choice herself because he's accepting his fate.” It just adds so much more insult to injury. You can't even let her get a satisfactory kill because you're like, “It's okay.” It's so good!

>HEADLAND: We also knew that it was always going to be the betrayal of the father, and I knew we had to juxtapose Luke's forgiveness and Vader's redemption. We're like, “This is a story about the Sith, so that's not gonna happen.” You're absolutely right. There's this thing that's called benign sexism, and part of it is this paternal protectionism — it seems like this good thing, but like you said, there's this, “I have to protect you from everything. I have to make sure you're okay. I have to tell you what track to get on, and then once you're on that track, I need to support you.”

>Ultimately, what happens is — again, this is a father-daughter relationship — as women evolve in their lives and develop their own personalities separate from their fathers, at some point, they have to reject that protectionism.

>One of my favorite moments is when he says, “I did everything because I love–” He's going to say, “I love you,” and not only is that a level of attachment that an unbalanced Jedi would have — he very clearly is losing it in the last half of the season — but that's also the justification for that kind of behavior between the father and the daughter.

>see all the bad things of PT
>it is worst and with more nigs and retarded kids
>>
Acolyte was written by the enemy, produced by the enemy and had the enemy cast in it.
>>
>>215526341
The Sith bad guy in this show was actually probably the best villain they've introduced into the whole series.

It's a shame that it will just be forgotten because of the poor reception to the show.
>>
>>215526341
unironically it is the second best disney star wars after Andor. Disregard the third episode and see it for what it is. Its got heart and soul and most importantly, AN ACTUAL STORY
>>
Shills, get over yourselves, all of the hype and goodwill died with TLJ. Most fans moved on to something else.

Trump killed woke so it doesn't matter anymore
>>
>>215526341
Worse. I don't watch Star Wars or similar franchises for prestige intellectual exercises or a woke feminist media studies class put to screen. I want a fun, edgy, thrilling theme park ride with characters that look like they stepped out of an old CW show acting out the based EU video games and books
>>
Nothing is allowed to be "bad" anymore. They're just aggressively mediocre.
>>
>sour everything after the original trilogy with the sequels
>sour everything before the prequels with this
>still working on souring everything between the two

the show had no chance of succeeding because of the background of leslye headland and what amandla said about white people

>>
>>215526341
>was this woke shit really bad tho?
woke shit is always shit. it is not to be watched.
that is all. cease your attempts to gaslight. the prequels were bad but not because they were a vehicle for a revolting hateful ideology.
>>
>>215526414
When your best argument is "w-well, if you squint hard enough, you like a vastly better executed, technically proficient and less ideologically poisoned version of it", you already lost. Besides, the only stupid niggers who'd care about this setting and plot would be prequelfags anyway so what the fuck are you even trying to say here.
>>
>>215527994
I am not making any argument, i'm literally just asking a question. My only exposure to the show has been other peoples opinions and out of context clips. I'm stating that based off of what I have seen why does this show receive so much vitriol compared to the prequels despite seemingly suffering from the same issues? I don't think that the inclusion of black people or women is a sufficient answer.
>>
>>215526414
Because the plots are stupid. Thrawn is supposed to be some master genius tactician, but you never get it. All that happens is that shit happens and then at the end, Thrawn says it was all part of his master plan.

Yes, he planned on Ahsoka and company to not only make the insanely retarded decision to charge at his ship on open field against macrocannon fire from a capital ship, but he also predicted that that they would survive that to initiate his second part of his plan, which also was just random shit happening.
>>
>>215528188
Because it was fucking awful you fucking retard. You're asking why everybody says shit is stinky.

Dullllllllll.
>>
>>215526341
If they can't articulate a reason then no, it's just another grift.
It was so-so and ultimate undermine as an incomplete story, plus TLJ already did Rashoman. It was a little cheesy in the set up but that's cringe internet "critic" nitpicking mostly.
