This movie absolutely sucked. What a way to shit up the "trilogy" and fuck up the mythos. Seriously what the HELL were they thinking?

Becuase ring spiral already fucked the mythos, and that's the intended path of the story according to the author of the original novels.

Which "first ring"? There are like 3 or 4.
Are they really? I haven't seen what people say of them so I can't speak on if they're overrated or not. They're good thriller movies, but nothing phenomenal or mind blowing. The scenario was a novelty at the time, and it's still a cool concept (mixing old tales of curses and technology).
