I rewatched 3 parts of shrek
>he finds out the princess and the kingdom was taken by some disgusting ogre
>he attempts to take it back
>his loving mother helps him
>they kill his mother
>3rd part begins with him mourning and crying about his mothers death, vows to take everything back
>they humiliate him in front of everyone and kill him off
Shrek is a bizzare cartoon

I don't think he died. Could be an interesting plot point for Shrek 5 to turn him into a good guy. But that movie looks all kinds of fucked already.
