Red River is pvre western kino until the final 2 minutes where they just couldn't figure out how to end it.
haute tension is a famous example of blatantly cheating the viewer so it wasn't the ending, it was the skullfucking scene mid-pointglad aja's career went nowhere, fully deserved
>>215530018I prefer Husqvarna to Stihl.
>>215530018>>215530501iirc that retarded ending was forced upon him by producers (among whom Luc Besson)At first it was supposed to be a survival story with no explanation about who was the villain
>>215530018I too was upset and disappointed how it ended with no nudity from cecile
>>215530501>glad aja's career went nowhere, fully deservedAja's a nepobaby and was only like 24 when he made High Tension, he's still not that old.
>>215530835that would have been 1000x better
It was a perfectly solid and complete finale to the trilogy of cartoons...until the last two minutes when it just upends the whole thing for no reason. Baffling.
Interstellar and ArrivalSo fucking dumb and cheesy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOKoUKjDok4I don't mind the ending. Sure, its a boring psycho-variant which feels a bit cheesy and old. But on the other hand it's so overthetoptwisty and makes so little sense it forces you question the existance/reality of the movie>was the intro car-ride all in her head or was it from a previous time?>who was the first bj-victim she threw out or was it just a fantasy>what kind of relationship did she have with the surviving girl?>was the car chase all in her head, if so...>why did she have wounds from the car crash?>where did she get the power saw?>how could she have a dream (intro dream) of the other character?>was she at two places at the same time when the little boy ran outI would call the twist giallo-like but at the same time it really isn't since there's no real "whodunnit"-angle of it. Anyway, it's a great example of how easy it is to be persuaved by a one-sided perspective unless you know the full story.I'd also say, from a quality-aspect the movie rather underrated. The cinematography is on a high level for a horror-flick, it has good editing and sound effects, fitting its name as its all focused on creating tense situations.
Repo man with Jude Law. Nothing makes me wanna fucking kill myself more than it was all just a dream.
>>215530018The Substance would had been perfect if not for the last 15 minutes.
>>215530835oh that figures.
>>215530018Ending is good making the final girl the killer I don't think had been done.
>>215530018doesn't the poster spoil the ending?
The twist didn't ruin the movie (on a theme park level), just the characters. Initially you believe that she might've been that traumatized from lack of food and exhaustion but it's just tooo elaborate and convenient. I feel like if you do something like this, you have to have a Chekhov's gun at the start to warn the audience.
I figured out the ending when the dude dropped the bullets from the gun. The gun was at the exact same place as the clerk had left it, so she had to be the dude.
>>215532393I knew she was the dude when she got into the van and got locked inside it.
>>215532393>>215532438I could tell she wasn't the real survival girl when she tried to find the phone.
Brilliant until the ending. Convinced the writer didn’t know how to end it so they just got a flunky to do a “blaze of glory” ending
>>215531992God damn Arrival ending. I cracked laughing at “look at this text message, general” bit
>>215532054That was a good one. In the same vein as Total Recall and evem Brazil. The movie reaches a certain point after which things get really wild and even more unrealistic. But theres a perfectly good reason for what just happened.
>>215530835Source or it's BS
>>215530018>This tap in the attic room of a dilapidated cottage in the middle of nowhere is not bone dry>That means somebody has just turned it on!
