John Carter of Mars shat upon my dreams
>>
Jurassic World and Transformers 2. Both were physically painful to watch. I stopped letting my friends talk me into seeing shit films, mostly..
>>
>>215531741
That Cartman meme could just as easily have been 'Put The Rock in it and make it lame'.
>>
>>215532492
i love that movie
>>
>>215531741
I don't see what's so bad about this one. It's just a painfully average adventure movie.

>>215532278
This is a better contender. I went into this thinking the hate had to be exaggerated, but no. This was just an absolute fucking mess.
>>
The Spirit. Holy shit it was awful.

>what I expected: Sin City meets Batman
>what I got: Frank Miller on cocaine
>>

>I was actually excited for this movie because I was hyperfixated on both The Rock and Emily Blunt.
Thank god it got delayed because of covid and I finally came to my senses.

>Turn the Jungle Cruise ride into a movie
>Pick the Amazon as a setting when the ride is mostly focused on Africa and India, so the headhunter tribe and a girl version of Trader Sam ends up being your main link to the ride
>Get rid of the natives and Trader Sam from the ride just in time for the movie's opening

Haven't seen a move like this since they put out a Country Bear Jamboree movie about trying to save the Country Bear Theater from being torn down right after they closed the Disneyland version for Winnie the Pooh

The Last Jedi

Ive seen so many bad AAA movies irs hard to pick one.

Of those I actually paid for tickets, Pearl Harbor, Transforners 2 and 4 are top contenders. But so is stuff like Batman & Robin, Gamer and Quantum of Solace.

Not just bad movies or movies that let md down. These are all highly reprehensible for specific reasons.
>>
>>215532605
I think this is the answer, Transformers movies are aggressively unpleasant to watch. And they are not as much of a kid's movie as Jungle Cruise. I think. I don't really know what the fuck happens in Jungle Cruise and I have no idea how they spent 200 million making it.
Maybe all movies just cost 200 million now??
Most of these movies are more remarkable for the dough they spent than how bad they are. John Carter isn't something people have been making fun of for 10 years because there was a legendary bad scene or something

Battleship

Saw it in theatres when I was 15 and walked halfway out because I was so fucking bored

We watched this in high school as part of a 'good behaviour day' (only if you had no detentions or other run-ins with the principal) along with laser tag and water slides. I remember being shocked at how bad the script was. 361m box office on a 60 million budget, which was pretty big back in 2007. The laser tag was awesome though.

"High school" in Aus means years 7-12, there's no concept of middle school. I was 11 years old at the time.

>>215531741
I saw the Marvels recently and that was pretty bad, pretty much all of the transformers movies are terrible, but in a way that I find genuinely compelling so I actually like them. 28 Weeks Later is one of the biggest recent disappointments for me, I really liked the first and I thought the second was incredibly lame. I saw Titanic recently and thought that was pretty bad too, in a really also lame way, felt like the distillation of spielberg style corny shmaltz.
>>215532605
Forgot about Jurassic World, saw the first two and they were both awful, BDH is hot tho

A tie between Terminator Genysis and Transformers Rise of the Beasts.
>>
>>215531741
My favorite part is the ending where its implied they both settled down together as a couple, as if during that time a lilly white blonde woman taking up with a "colored man" wouldn't be the talk of the town. Both of them would probably be arrested.
>>
>>215533928
It breaks my mind to know the man who made that abomination flick also wrote Dark Knight Returns.

When watching Last Jedi and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom I remember feeling stupefied that these movies made it to the screen like that being so aggressively awful with so much money spent on them and so many people involved. I just kept wondering how someone didn't step in and stop it.
>>
>>215534292
>Maybe all movies just cost 200 million now??
The original Jurassic Park cost the equivalent of $125 million to make. These movies DO NOT need to cost $200 million or more to make if the people making them aren't inept, incompetent or corrupt.
>>
I'm pretty sure I saw Battleship once, but my brain has decided to not remember a single thing about it
>>
>>215538045
>so many people involved. I just kept wondering how someone didn't step in and stop it.
The curse of the committee approach. It will spend infinite money and turn out a bunch of garbage no one wants, and there is nobody who can step it and put their foot down.
>>
>>215531741
>MIB International (awful blocking in most scenes, terrible editing, none of the jokes land, was clearly the result of multiple rewrites AND reshoots)
>Morbius (also another product of aggressive reshoots, horrific dialogue, terrible choreography, Leto cannot just let go and be present in a scene he is visibly 'acting' and fretting over how to enunciate words and where to look the entire time)
Madame Web is up there but its awfulness is dulled somewhat by all the nice looking women in it. Now that I think of it, all these movies have something in common...I think it rhymes with 'Tony'?
>>
>>215532492
I don’t get why this movie is hated. It’s a dumb fun sci-fi. Dotar Sojat!

Recycling the Pirates of the Caribbean "Cursed pirate crew with magic powers" gimmick with Conquistadores that have fused with parts of the jungle and Hollywood's whole "Replace all the animals with CGI ones" thing that has killed the careers of animal trainers.

I firmly believe Disney just inflates the numbers for tax write-offs. There is just no way this film cost 200M unless half that money went to the Rock and Blunt.

Cthulu (2007)

Went to see Lovecraftian horror, got virtually none of that and a really mediocre gay romance instead. Perhaps not the worst film I've ever seen from a technical or narrative perspective, but absolutely the most disappointed I have ever been in a theater.

Napoleon made me kek hard. It was a dumb as shit movie, but the execution of Marie Antionette and Joaquin hamming it up as a sex-crazed Bonaparte was the funniest shit I've seen in a long time. Fuck that new Naked Gun movie, Napoleon is the best comedy of the decade so far.
That tracking shot of him doing the Joker run? Holy shit my sides.
