Did I get Mandela'd again? Supposedly Soul Train aired until 2006, which makes no fucking sense. I don't remember that being a thing in the 90s or early 2000s and you can only find pics/video from the 70s/80s. Also, why haven't they brought it back? It's kino.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f4CyQto-0Ehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lODBVM802H8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-lTQ00nzf8

>>215532508ABC held the rights to it well into the 2000s. They used to air it along like showtime at the Apollo and some other thing only black ppl watched

Kind of weird there aren't any musical variety shows these days desu. Seems like an easy genre to get people to watch streamslop every week.
>>215533962UK had Jools Holland which seemed pretty great but I have no idea how long that's been gone for or if it's still going or what. I only ever saw it via youtube clips.
>>215532508In LA, it typically aired after the block of Saturday morning cartoons well after all of the flagship shows, so most people would have tuned out by the time it came on. But even in the 90s I remember the phrase 'the longest syndicated show in TV history' or something like that being uttered in the intro.
It was definitely on when I was in high school (2002-2006). It was on after Saturday morning cartoons and it was starting when I switched over to lucha libre on Galavision.
Yeah it aired until 2006, I know this because this was the sign saturday morning cartoons ended. Which even in 2006 was slim pickings but there were still some premiers and Saturday lineups on CN and Nick were pretty weak.
