The Newark Riots plotline went nowhere despite the amount of screentime it gets. The whole thing felt like a miniseries about the Riots that was cancelled and remade into a Sopranos film because the studio assumed nobody would give a fuck otherwise.
Because it didn't contain the parts of The Sopranos that people actually liked, which totals maybe 30% of the actual show's runtime.100% of the movie and 70% of the show is made of the stuff people don't remember and it's garbage

It was boring and pointless and mostly Chase cashing on the George Floyd riots to make some racial tension bullshit nobody cared about. Also it directly retcons and contradicts the original series. The characters are all way too old. Tony should be a little kid in 1967 not a 16 year old.
