Not really. Most times its guys and guys or gals and gals. Then someone gets a boyfriend/girlfriend and they tag along with the group of guy or gals. Then the others feel lonely because they don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend so they get one. Then its no longer guys and guys or gals and galls. Its now become couples and couples

I had the same group of friends all throughout college but one semester I took sailing as an optional course and ended up hanging out with completely new people, that was the only time in my life where I found myself in a group with an approximately equal amount of guys and gals for long periods of time. They were all rich so the girls were ofc hot.
