He wasn't even that good of a skater. What he was really good at was technology and marketing. He made all the videos for the "CKY Crew", and did all the marketing early on. So, when he turned 16, Element offered him a $250,000 signing deal. He bought his parent's house. His brother's older band, CKY, which he always featured in his songs and stunt videos, took off and were playing with Slayer and other huge bands.

MTV came calling and wanted the CKY crew on the East Coast to link up with the Knoxville Crew on the East Coast. This was all taking place during his 18th, 19th, and 20th birthday. Everyone around Bam was suddenly dependent on him for their career: his parents, CKY, and his friends. He was making millions of dollars, traveling the world, linking up with his favorite bands, and was easily one of the most recognizable celebrities in the early 2000s. Then by age 25, all that shit stopped.

In hindsight, it's not too bad. He still has that big house from the Viva La Bam show he lives in and he seems to have moved on from the drugs he was doing in his 30s.
