Would a Naros-styled biopic about Saddam Hussein work? I heard it was tried by the BBC in 2008 but didn't really lift off.
>>215542390This would definitely work if it went deep on the history of his rise to power and how life was under his rule. But it should not be a complete historical account, that is it should not start with his childhood. It should start in 1956 when Saddam joined the Baath party and end with his trial in Baghdad in 2006.
Could be a good nostalgia bait
>>215542763Are Arabs genuinely nostalgic about Saddam or is it just because they hate the status quo so much?
How come we dint get the funny wacky kind of dictators like him anymore?
>>215542839We have Kim jeong Un
>makes iraq one of the most developed countries in the middle east>gets betrayed by his american allies>gets his country bombed back to the stone age and has to rebuild>gets accused of WMDs and blamed for 9/11>gets his country bombed and invaded again >gets executed, will forever be remembered as an evil tyranthe didn't deserve it that bad

>>215542806Arab Zoomers(Much like all zoomzooms) like him only because Of TikTok edits. Much like here with...whatever previous regime country had. Yes Current Iraq ain't perfect but it's improving and Saddam was a top noch cunt.

>>215542875Why did you leave out the genocide-related parts?
>>215542875>will forever be remembered as an evil tyrantHow unfair.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anfal_campaign#The_campaign
>>215542390>>215542763>215542806>215542875>>215542948>>215543001Literally everybody hated Saddam. He was simultaneously mortal enemies with Israel, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia/Gulf, and Syria. It takes skills to be so universally reviled in the region. Only the palestinians liked him because they're parasites that just fuck over those who support them.
Didnt he use like poison gas to kill people or something
>>215543063Yes.The halabja massacre.
>>215542839They keep getting overthrown/murdered.
>>215542875>>makes iraq one of the most developed countries in the middle eastHe threw it all away in a massive 8 year war with Iran
If he was still in charge today what would the middle east be like?
>>215543283It's hard to imagine Saddam somehow lasting this long. Guy made so many enemies and caused so many problems it was inevitable for him to be overthrown.
>>215542839>How come we dint get the funny wacky kind of dictators like him anymore?See: >>215543024Yeah, real "funny" and "wacky"...
It should show Bush and Blair as superheros fighting against the evil Saddam and freeing Iraqis and giving them LGBT rights
>>215542390I get the feeling they don't want people digging too deep into the Iraq and GWOT era stuff again especially given the parallels now with how they're trying to manufacture consent to go after countries like Iran and Venezuela. They were really pulling out all the stops back then to get us to hate Saddam but a lot of the stuff I heard as a kid sets off my bullshit detector as an adult. EG they told us that he had a "professional rapist" on his payroll he'd send to your house if you pissed him off. Come on, that's some comic book villain tier shit. >>215543176He spent the 80's fighting Iran on America's behalf and when he went to claim his promised prize(Kuwait) he got a knife in the back. Zelensky take note!
>>215543977>that's some comic book villain tier shitSadam literally DID retarded super-villain-tier shit though.Hell, his eldest son practically embraced becoming a literal IRL super-villain with some of the shit he did in his spare time.https://youtu.be/o3OUJgs9pnk
