It truly was. We were blessed with so many good films in the later half of the 2000's. I was born in 2001 so I missed out on these when they originally came out but holy shit The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is outstanding.

Even stuff like Kiss Kiss Kiss Bang or Sunshine outclass anything we have today.
