This movie would have been so much better if Sugar just bursted out from behind the door and got in a matrix style gunfight with the sheriff.
>>
>>215556007
i still don't understand why did the sheriff went back and this nigga was hiding off screen somewhere.
why'd he go back
why was the killer there
why was it necessary to show that?
>>
He wouldn't be able to kill me as I wouldn't stop verbally abusing him for that haircut. His whole approach requires verbal discourse and I'd layer endless insults until he walked away in embarrassment.
>>
>>215556034
The sheriff was trying to prove to himself that he wasn't a pussy
>>
>>215556058
why did he have a suspicion that the killer was at the crime scene and why was he there?
>>
>>215555919

what's pretentious about it? not the characters, the dialogue, or the message
>>
>>215556111
>not the characters,
i thought Anton was an okay character, I liked the main character too
>the dialogue,
it was okay too, except for the sherrif's incoherent monolohgue at the end
>or the message
what message?
the movie parades itself as too intellectual for you to understand the overall plot. the movie ended and i couldn't tell you wtf i watched for the past 2 hours. any movie that you need to watch more than once to understand is fu cking shit.
this is reddit the movie
>>
>>215556034
That scene reveals that Chigur never actually existed and the entirety of the movie took place in the sheriff's head, save for his scenes
>>
>>215556007
This is funny because it reminds me of all people pissed with Glass because it didn’t have le epic MCU style final battle scene.

what
>>
>>215555989
It's a very simple premise. A man goes on the run with money that isn't his. Hitman gets tasked with hunting down the money. Suspense and terror ensues. Sorry if it was too complicated for your tiny brain to comprehend.
>>
>>215555989
Do you know what plot means? because the plot is pretty like, transparent. there's a drug meet that goes bad, one guy finds the scene and steals money, we follow him trying to figure out how to keep it without getting into trouble while Chigurh, initially hired as a hitman, attempts to track down the cash and leaving a bloody path behind him. Another hitman is hired to take out Chigurh for killing the men in charge of him, all while a sheriff on the brink of retirement investigates the events we follow. Nothing goes right for anyone except Chigurh, who we last see killing Moss' wife. Despite his win, he's mortal and is grazed by sheer fate. The invisible image he has throughout the film is nothing but luck which could run out at any moment. That's the plot. Did you mean themes?

>Another hitman is hired to take out Chigurh for killing the men in charge of him

It's a movie about how America was changing rapidly at the time. Crime getting worse along the border, slowly becoming the current situation with the cartels. It's become a "no country for old men." I think that's what the dream the sheriff describes at the end is basically about. Also, Chigurh isn't even the one to kill Moss, the cartel is.
>>
>>215556407
see i thought this nigga was a fed. why wasn't this explained?

why, and why did Chirgurh end up at the crime scene anyway

You need to sit and watch ONLY the movie, giving it your full attention. No phone, no internet on the side.
You just watch the movie from start to finish without doing anything else. This is how you don't miss major plot points like a retard.

I'm pretty sure this entire thread is just trolling.

You're a brown skinned retard.

The movie is an inversion of the typical western. Llewellyn is your typical good guy, hero. He is faithful to his wife, veteran, he carries a certain honor to them. You want him to win, then he dies unceremoniously, and not even to the villain. Just like in real life, the good guy doesn't always win. There is more but you're too retarded to understand.

Rewatch the scene between the Sheriff and his Uncle, the Sheriff's final monologue, and the entire movie again and if you still don't get it you're a philosophical zombie.

that is easy to understand, the problem of the movie is it doesn't tell the average retard what's going on, it sorts of plays out like Pulp Fiction but without any coherence.

In the book he doesn't cheat with the pool girl, he wants to but backs out only to get killed and everybody thinks he ended up cheating anyway.

It shouldn't. Retards should get filtered. Retards should not get to enjoy things.

I swear to God, visual media attracts the most dimwitted ingrown head motherfuckers

Not OP, but I did have to read a summary after watching the movie for the themes to be explained to me, and then it all made sense and I better appreciated what I'd just watched. I'll even admit that I too didn't quite understand who the other hitman was, like OP I even thought he was some kind of special agent working within the law. Normally I have to watch a movie like this twice before I understand it like everyone else does on their first viewing. Unlike OP though I don't have an ego about not understanding something and quickly try to inform myself. OP, you are either embarrassed that you don't understand and decided to make this thread and act coy about it as a roundabout way of getting things explained, or much worse, you are proud that you don't understand and are acting exactly like a zoomer making a quick tweet similar to 'bruh who tf got time to read a bigass book'.

Good post. You admit that you don't get things as fast but you educate yourself so you do understand.
OP is the worst type of troll. But these days it's also possible that he's getting a NCFOM discussion going the only way you can anymore, with negativity. Notice how everyone jumps in to defend and explain the movie. This place sucks, but you're okay.

i think i could have formulated my OP a bit better, but i guess the gist of my frustration comes from feeling cheated for watching a 2 hour movie where the story felt like you were not let on certain key points of the story. this type of pretentious "artsy" high IQ movie archetype infuriates me to no end
>>
>>215557146
so he didn't get the money in the end right?
>>
Reminder that NCFOM is literally McCarthy's worst book
>>
>>215557194
I think you might just be a little stupid. It’s not a problem, just stick to slop and you’ll be happy. Cheers mate, you don’t have to like authentically good things - make your own rules about what’s good if you can’t understand

Nope he failed to get the dough so he didn't really win either plus the whole car wreck bit with the cops coming.

He got the money retard, that's why sugar is at the motel hiding when the sheriff goes back, but he's in the other room just like he did before the camera even pans to the vent with the screws taken out to show you sugar got the money.
>>
>>215556221
Tommy Lee Jones character is an old man struggling with the changes of the newer criminal elements and as he stumbles upon the scenes of crimes occurring throughout the movie he imagines an older western like scenario of the hero cowboy Llewellyn and the unstoppable villain Anton
>>
>>215557441
I figured Moss got whacked before he hid it and sugar was checking because there because that was where he hid it last time.
>>
>>215557343
retarded nonsensical play on semantics
>>215557259
At least The Road was great to read when it got released
>>
>>215557496
I suppose it is ambiguous enough you could assume that. You don't know if the cartel ambush happened before or after he hid the money. I just assumed after.
I take back the retard bit.
>>
>>215556034
>>215556074
He was correct in assuming Moss hid the money somewhere in the hotel room, like he did earlier. He went back to see if it was there.
Chigurh had already come and gone, taking the money with him, but as the sheriff went in he had no way of knowing if he was hiding there or not.
The sheriff had to face his fear of the sort of senseless evil he felt ‘put his soul at hazard.’ And while he was able to enter the room and find that it was empty, he also retires soon after. Hard to say if it’s really a victory or not.
TLDR: Chigurh wasn’t actually in the room when the sheriff went back to check. The sheriff just imagined he might be.
>>
>>215557543
Thanks
>>
>>215555960
The bad guy died at the end, that is what he got for stealing money that belonged to Anton Chigurh.
>>
>>215557475
It was pretty obvious that Tommy Lee Sheriff was in an old folks home having an outing for a Friday breakfast at the town cafe. He was having a dream inspired by the headlines as you pointed out.
