Sopranos is shot like a film, with interesting directorial flourishes and crazy editing during dream sequences. Breaking Bad is shot like a bog-standard TV show. And Breaking Bad is trying way too hard to be cool, unlike Sopranos, which is cool because it was the first prestige TV drama.
