I'm glad we all came to our senses and universally agreed that season 2 was an absolute travesty which caused irreversible damage to the series as a whole
>>
>>215571255
I don’t care

I just need me a helly figure to run away into a corporate maze with.
>>
It was just a bridge to S3
It's supposed to be a lot of open loops for the next S3, I just hope they finish there
Anyway, the harmony episodes are fucking awful

Binged S2 a few days ago and I disagree (though there were "issues"). But I'm interested to hear why anons think so.
>>
>>215571255
Enjoyed season 1.
Season 2 was the enshittification of the show.

Woe's Hollow was good. Chikhai Bardo was good. Cold Harbor was good. The rest was shit.

The first season was a sleeper hit and season two felt like they were intentionally dragging it out.

>It's not funny

It's one of the shittiest bridgeds I ever seen. What "loops" did they actually open?
They just answered a bunch of questions
Did we watch the same show?
>>
This is gonna be another "Lost" where the ending is absolute dogshit because none of the fan theories are right about what they're coding or whatever.
The concept was cool but the execution rapidly became slop.

I guess I should explain why I liked it.
>the cinematography/music/atmosphere
Might sound like a cope, but I really enjoy the show's whole look and feel.
>the performances
Great pretty much across the board. The highlights for me were Milchick firing back at the fat Icelandic guy and Irving's fuck-you stare-down of Milchick.
>further exploration of the implications of people being severed
I'm thinking in particular of Dylan's weird three-way thing with himself, Helena/Helly's weird three-way thing with Mark, and Mark's back and forth with himself via the camcorder.
>the ugly negress and the whole "resistance" angle are sidelined
It's severance and its implications for the characters that are the most interesting aspects of the show, not some jewy "severed people are like oppressed minorities" resistance movement. The show may be pumping the brakes, but this is one area where I'm happy for them to do so (plus, once Mark et al are reintegrated, the show's kind of done). Also, I thought the sister reacted appropriately to that uppity, incompetent bitch.
>inadvertently based portrayal of gayness
In that Burt essentially decides to get severed to free a part of himself from his general degeneracy. Wouldn't be surprised if that actually pissed off some Redditors.
>>
>>215572930
unlike lost though severance isn't making it past four seasons
>>
>>215573615
That's more modern TV in general but I agree with you.
If Lost came out now, season 1 would be 10 episodes and the plane wouldn't even crash till episode 9.
>>
2 was bad but the last episode and scene was kino
>>

Things I didn't like (aside from the woke aspects, which at least haven't gotten any worse IMO):
>>215572531
>It's actually all about Mark and his wife. All of it
>Cobel actually invented everything
Yeah. The second one will hopefully just be a minor annoying piece of wokeness. The first, yeah, hard to defend. It's clear Erickson and the writers generally aren't as clever as I initially hoped - i.e. they're largely winging it, and the eventual full reveal of what Lumon is up to and why is going to be anticlimactic. That said... The mysteries are just one aspect of the show, and hopefully it'll turn out that Mark and Fox Lady aren't the only keys to all this. Maybe a bit of a cope there, I'll concede.
>signs that they're gonna pad this out for way too long
I enjoy diversions like the ORTBO episode, but if they're basically back to square one again in S3... Did Helly's Overtime outburst have any effect on the wider world? Has Fox Lady really escaped? The main antagonist of S2 got what he fucking deserved, and it was satisfying to watch, but he only featured in S2, so, square one.
>>
>>215573684
if lost came out now no one would watch the first season and it would get canceled
>>
>>215573684
lost would benefit from being a streaming series since it would cut the bulk of the filler out and we wouldn't get as half-assed of an ending as we did
>>
>>215573684
so what you're saying is if Lost came out today, it would be called From
>>
>>215573221
Smart Black Lady Scientist is the fucking worst trope of this decade I'm so fucking tired of it.
>>
>>215571255
Fuck you Stiller for quitting. Its now irredeemable shit.
>>
>>215573716
Sorry, I meant UGLY smart black lady scientist.
Also seen recently in the woke gay robot show
the John China hbo superhero slop
And a bunch more im forgetting right now.
>>
>>215573894
Yep. I find the character repellent... but it's almost like the show did too. Shame she'll inevitably be back.

>but the last episode and scene was kino
i'm tired of this meme. the last episode was just as stupid as the rest. the fucking painting. the retarded 15 minute dance scene. the fact that mark didnt even fucking care when he saw that his wife was alive for the first time. man the writing was just horrible
>>
>>215571255
Imagine hating one of the only good modern shows in existence. In a sea of slop here's a flawed gem and here you are to fuck it up. Go back to watching your Netflix slop
>>
>>215574098
sauce on the pic? if you're telling me mark is secretly a clone of the company guy i'll shit myself
>>
>>215574139
>sauce on the pic?
its in the show. lumon hung that up. it looks like a fan painting from deviantart, where some woman with aspergers included every character that has been in the show. but it's not, and it's supposed to be a real painting that lumon made. why would they, and how could they make a painting that just conveniently included every character that's been shown to the viewer? that's not important because reddit loved it.
>>
>>215574192
Why precisely would every character NOT be there. Are you seriously implying Lumen doesn't know who works for them and who the characters saw? Are you that retarded?
>>
>>215574228
because it breaks the fourth wall. putting these characters together like this only makes sense to the viewer, and not to mark. as i said, it's fan art, and not something that should exist in universe.
>>
>>215574357
What the fuck are your talking about? Literally every single character in this painting is someone Mark met. It's a painting designed to make him think he's a Messiah so of course it's going to have everyone he ever met and make him feel like it's all been leading to this. How are you this stupid?

>>
>>215571255
That's pretty hyperbolic, but I will say the love triangle was the least interesting aspect of the show and focusing the end around it was a "wait, seriously?" moment for me.
>>
I don't like that they're making a third season. The ending to season 2 was so perfect that whatever they can come up with afterwards will be a letdown.
>>
>>215571255
a streaming show dropped off a cliff in season 2? i dont believe it

S1 was great cause it was new and different but they let all the cats outta the bag. S2 they ignore all the cats and try to spin it into something entirely different and give everyone their own episode to ramble. Absolute travesty.
>>
>>215571255
it wasn't that bad, people really overreacted. it wasn't as good as season 1, but it really wasn't the disaster that people act like it was. and the finale was the best episode of the whole show so far.
>>
>>215571255
Season 2 should have just been about them going deeper and deeper into the office, mapping more and more out with backstory revealed through conversation with different people across different departments, pieced together.
>>
>>215576093
Interdepartmental backstory was unreliable rumor at best tho
>>
>>215576181
The colored card wars were not and we got no information about that in S2.
