Mike Myers agrees btw. He says 2 is better.
>>
>>215572972
mike myers supposedly being funny is some kind of worldwide inside joke, right?
>>
>>215572972
Waynes World 2 is infinitely better.

This movie is mostly forgotten. No one even rates it in the first place.
>>
>>215572972
i watched this movie approximately 9000 times as a lad
>>
nobody was on what could be called the internet back then but we had what would have been called memes, mostly from SNL comedies.

I liked 1 and 2, saw them both at the cinema with my friends, and along with Bill and Ted they probably had an affect on my life and what I enjoyed.
keep in mind my life is a living hell, and I hate almost every second of every single day and have just wanted to die for the last decade.
every day is worse than the one before it, and yet it still manages to surprise me. the slightest elevation of any kind of hope is smashed in the most disgusting and vile way almost immediately afterwards.
it's like I'm being led into a trap, the last grains of positivity are rooted out with tiny morsels of treats, until little by little, every once in a while I fall for it and there's another piece carved out of the middle of my being.
didn't think I'd turn into the guy behind the counter at the doughnut shop, but here we are.
when's it going to end.

Lol zoomers are so fried they have no context for pre internet youth irony culture
>>
>>215573345
I mean... how would they have context?
>>
>>215572972
Imagine being filtered by fucking Wayne's World lmao
>>
>>215573367
It’s just sad that they have no sense of basic suburban normalcy that Wayne’s World - not a sophisticated movie - is entirely incomprehensible to them.
>>
>>215573410
>I’ve just always wanted to open a door on a room full of ninjas like in James Bond, shyeah
>>
a gunrack?
>>
these movies got some classic comedy in them
>>
>>215572972
ya, as a fellow zoomer, i couldnt relate to wanting a girlfriend or creating music or doing anything but gooing to cuck porn and watching streams of video games.
>>
>>215573511
I don't even own a gun.
>>
>>215573027
he only says that because he fell out with the director of the first over creative differences (him being a retard)
eg. he didn't think the bohemian rhapsody scene would hit
>>

>no sense of basic suburban normalcy that Wayne’s World - not a sophisticated movie - is entirely incomprehensible to them.

Within their lifetime the last person born before the internet will die.
>>
>>215573308
EXCELLENT!
>>
>>215573429
Well a movie about Beatniks would have confused you when you were 10, so whats the problem?
>>
>>215574055
I read that as a bill and ted excellent but its poppin fresh.
>>
>>215574092
I watched Casino Royal and I get it, it’s just not that great.
>>
>>215574005
To clarify the director wasn’t into bohemian rhapsody
The reason the scene hits is that Myers is into it unironically while the context of the last metal heads drunk and jamming out nostalgically to Queen is actually quite ironic. So the scene plays and sincere and ironic at the same time, establishing the satire and heart that Wayne’s World bears on equal measure.

>It feels like it was written by an incel fantasizing about the life he wishes he had.
new "it insists upon itself" just dropped

I thought I was the only who felt that way my body just crumbled after 40, every year gets worse.

>>215572972
Why doesn't this make the movie way better? That is how I saw it too on a rewatch but it made it interesting to me, this guy is obviously some kind of 25 year old virgin and has a virgin friend too. Maybe Wayne had sex before at say 15-16 but it was weird and uncomfortable, he gives that vibe. Rock and Roll is his passion and metal partially because its his ticket into pussytown. Its a good character study about a fun guy who shows you can be an incel but still enjoy life and not let it make you bitter.
>>
>>215575205
Now Wayne and Garth are both cool metalheads that aren’t virgins but the show raises their clout to also fuck hot chicks.
You could be “sexist” and rate and ogle female bodies in the early 90s as a red blooded man still, but they started to delegitimize ogling as “creepy” as women gained power by the late 90s.

The SNL sketch characters are archetypes, but the movie characters are elevated embodied literary spirits and exist independently of the archetypes. This makes them surreal entities which disconnects them from normative humanity which might make them appear to be above teenage horniness and maybe this makes them seem virgin like as asexual jester spirits.

I think Wayne’s World 2 suffers from too much elevation into surreality and Myers is clearly bohemian in soul and this is almost a late call back to psychedelic cinema. It’s appreciable but I like the first one’s stronger force of gravity in returning to the real more often. Wayne is always in cloud cuckoo land but sometimes just his soul while his body is grounded to Earth. It makes the humor launch better like the Alice cooper we are not worthy thing or the absurd ending. Or perhaps the awkward scenes with Rob Lowe especially the Garth fourth wall breaking.

“Now Wayne and Garth”
*Show Wayne and Garth (SNL)

My bus driver was like Otto from the sneedsons and he had no idea why a bus load of middle schoolers started singing bohemian rhapsody at the top of their lungs going home on a Friday
>>
>>215576118
I don’t think people could pull this off anymore. All we have left is sweet Caroline which is I think justification for terrorism

3/4ths of Red Sox nation supports you.

let alone multiple guns
>>
>>215575205
my body is mostly fine, I outpace 20 year olds, face is fine, hair is fine. on the outside I look fine, but life is a miserable fucking hellish wreck and I despise every day of it.
if you saw my character sheet you'd wonder what the fucking hell went wrong so many times.

>>215573027
Wayne's World 2 is good. It's the textbook case of "the first one, but bigger" and there's nothing wrong with that. It's got a lot of things going for it. Christopher Walken is always welcome. Chris Farley has a larger role. I like the British guy who hat to beat them to death with their own shoes. It's satisfying to see things progress directly from the first with Cassandra recording her album for Mr. Big.
I like the world of Wayne's World, and Wayne's World 2 is more of it.
>>
>>215576460
hopefully they'll make a Wayne's world 3 soon, and that it will be as good as Bill and Ted 3
>>
>>215572972
This movie is great. If you expect a brainless family comedy to be more refined, if you spend time making threads about that, you should just die and save us all some trouble.
