People who complain about Michael in this movie not being a motiveless force of unknowable evil should know he hasn't been that since the first sequel. As soon as it was revealed he was Laurie's brother in Halloween 2 it already went against the point of the original and gave him a motive. If anything Rob Zombie's Halloween movies are the only films that make Michael and Laurie being siblings work.

Rewatching the original Halloween rn. You can tell Jaime Lee Curtis is a nepo baby because she's the worst actor in the movie and the least attractive girl but somehow has the lead role.
