I havent seen it since a kid but did love the gulliver's travels with Ted Landon. The special effects were getting pretty good for tv networks. Uncanny.

The 1951 is still great and holds up, but i agree than 1999 is extremely underrated. Not that many people saw it, but i had a VHS with it so i watched it pretty regularly, and as a kid that was a...uniqe experience.
