Im an autist for watching a movie in the best format, but some of my friends think headphones + computers are better, what do yall think

if you're not using headphones you'll lose some subtle sounds probably. wont be able to hear the full depth. same with music, best way is headphones. movies contain music and layers of other sound as well. same principle

Headphones is indeed the best way to enjoy sound and music. Get a big quality screen and honestly you're not far of the cinema experience.

Speakers + subwoofer are much better for listening then headphones

A desktop connected to the TV is my preferred way. Lets me use my wireless headphones while on the couch.

I had to move out of my last place where I could set up my projector and surround sound and it's fucking grim going back to a tv and shitty sound bar

Yep. hd6xx and a 27" OLED monitor for me. I have good speakers but it's not as immersive watching films late night.
