It's pretty much reddit meets netflix meets globohomo feminism. Basically it's feminism the movie made to hypnotise the viewer into thinking "white men bad" and "POC women good". There isn't really much more to this dreary film than that.
>>
>>215585576
Solid, entertaining comedy that was unfairly maligned because almost half of the film's entire budget was Jim Carrey's salary, however people also ignore that the film was also likely only financially successful because of Carrey's casting.
Watch it.

Brainrot
>>
>>215585576
the movie is okay. his monologue at the end about cable & the internet changing the world is worth watching the movie alone
>>
In a deleted scene, Thteven was being a creepy stalker towards his ex just like Chip was being to him.
>>
>>215585604
as a kid the cover didn't look like jim carrey at all or i'd have asked to rent it

I will, now and forever, call it a "coaxel cable"

Weird movie. Not very funny. Not very scary.
>>
>>215585576
It has some great comedy bits that would be a shame to miss

Is this what they call the wire/cable face?
>>
>>215585576
Worth watching alone for the Medieval times scene.
>Get on the horse buddy, I don't think he's joking!
>>
>>215586522
yes
when jesse says 'wire' he, briefly, becomes 'the cable guy'
>>
The brother sweet brother bits with eric roberts were gold
>he was speak some kind of language... i think it was aaaaaasssssiiiiiiiiaaaaan
>>
>>215585576
All of cable guy's dialog lines are actually dialogs from other movies.
>>
>>215585576
Not Carrey's best, but still pretty watchable.
>>
>>215586539
Masterful Andy Dick performance
>>
>>215585576
It was suppose to be Chris Farley but he died.
>>
>Search "The cable guy" in qb
>Endless porn to the point it's hard to find the actual movie
Why is "Cable guy" such a common trope in the porn industry?
>>
>>215585576
It seemed that he had friends already. Those weird guys at the party, those cops that arrested Steven. Why was he so fixated on Matthew Broderick?
>>
>>215585576
I loved the Medieval Times part.
>>215586976
Don't be fatuous, anon

>he was speak some kind of language... i think it was aaaaaasssssiiiiiiiiaaaaan
That's Ben Stiller doing that voice. Eric Roberts plays Ben Stiller's character in the tv movie adaption within the movie.
>>
Hated it because I had multiple annoying "friends" that were obsessed with me and wouldn't leave me alone. They would often call my house and if that failed, they would show up and ring the doorbell while looking inside the window to see if anyone was home. This was back before smartphones when people had home phones
>>
>>215587256
lol and watch - it turns out they were just regular dudes trying to hang out and thought you were on the same wavelength.

It's incredible, certified kino-flick. And I say this as someone who despises Carey.
>>
>>215587256
Same dude. Except it was this annoying bimbo bitch with massive titties who was always trying to give me blowjobs and have threesomes with her equally busty friends. Like no thank you, I already get super laid like all the time. And in this economy? Magnum condoms don’t grow on trees.

You joke, but something like that actually happened to me IRL:
>be in university, have a younger GF that lives in a different town, will move to me next year
>95% of my courses (linguistics) are women,
>one of them is a stereotypical blonde bimbo with a rich fiance, cheerful and bubbly etc.
>asks me to lend her my notes one day,
>drop by her apartment, her rich parents literally bought her one
>within five minutes of entering we're fucking all over the place
>feel horrible due to both cheating on my GF and cucking her fiance, try to stop it at that one incident
>she proceeds to keep seducing me into fucking her, or getting blown in her car, or drops by my shithole of a place in the middle of the night to sleep with me
>this goes on for a few months, finally grew the balls to tell her "enough"
>OK anon, I'm going out with a female friend for drinks to a bar close to you, just drop by
>I did, ended up in a MFF threesome
>took me another 3 months to finally stop, feel like shit every step of the way
>>
>>215585576
It's the missing link between silly funnyman Carrey and serious actor Carrey, so it can be interesting from a historical/biographical perspective.
You can also appreciate what Stiller tried to do, despite the subpar execution.

You all joke, but they were really weird and annoying. At one point they were competing for spot as my best friend. I hated them both. One used to shove his foot in the door when I closed it if I didn't give an excuse he liked. The other was a mommas boy that wanted to play marines all day. No joke, we larped as the main characters from flags of our fathers. He always wanted to be Rene Gagnon and made me John Bradley. It was same when we larped as Rush, and he was Geddy Lee, and I was Alex Lifeson. He was obsessed with hockey too and the characters from flags of our fathers would be part of a hockey team where he played center, and I was forward.

Cable Guy Code of Honor
>Always plug a brother in, and never cut another man’s cord.
>If a brother shows his crack, you cover his back
>A Cable guy never shows up late or shows up early, he arrives when he’s supposed to.
These young guys could learn from the old heads, unfortunately the Cabala of the Wire Workers has declined in membership in recent times. I blame Obama.

I remember how butthurt Carrey was because it didn't do well. In interviews, he was crying about how "when you want to try something different yadda yadda yadda yadda".

and the Liar Liar came out and he was all supersmug because that was successful

I find Leslie Mann a very physically attractive woman but so much of the stuff Apatow puts in his movies that is clearly based off of his relationship with her makes me suspect she's a vile human being. I mean, she'd have to be to be married to Judd Apatow, right?

The Oscar-winning Birdman movie is a shitty remake of the masterpiece Cable Guy movie! The ending's exactly the same with Emma Stone eventually becoming as crazy as Jim Carrey when she hallucinated immediately after a suicide she thought had failed! Batman Forever's an underrated superhero movie
>>
>>215589195
I don't care about the rest of your post but Batman Forever is indeed underrated
>>
>>215585576
Loved this one growing up but I think it’s because I was raised eerily similarly to carreys character in the film. Fortunately I didn’t turn into a stalker type, just movie obsessed.
