Gilmore Girls is my go to /tv/ show for HalloweenWhen is the proper time to start the binge watching?
>>215607387I love the episode A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving, watch it every November
>>215607387I always wrote it off as girl slop when it was airing. Watched it for the first time a couple years ago because my gf really likes it and has the box set. Pretty good, my favorite scenes are any that have Emily and Richard in them. Rory is hot but I disliked the character by the end.
>>215607523Rory was perfect 10/10 waifu in the first season though, autistic and socially awkward but super cute. She became a normie bitch in season 2 though, sadly
>>215607577Why did they destroy Rory's character? What was there to gain for doing this?
>>215607577>She became a normie bitch in season 2 though, sadlyStill hot throughout the entire show. >look up rory gilmore body>multiple pages of fatoids kvetching over them making fat jokeslmao
I watched the entire series a couple years ago through Autumn and Winter when I was unemployed. It was pretty comfy and I hate Rory so much it's unreal.
>>215607726no doubt to make her more "relatable" to the basic bitches watching the show
>>215607930>It was pretty comfy and I hate Rory so much it's unreal.same
One of the most boring shows I've ever seen in my life. Boomers' first world problems, the show.
>>215607387It's great. I watched it for the first time earlier this year. The early seasons were very comfy. It gets steadily less comfy (but still fun) until the last two seasons which are just a bit sad. Still entertaining, but sad. Logan's dad did nothing wrong by the way and it's kind of funny to see even fans complain about him. He told it to her like it is and the way she reacted only proved his point. How do we feel about the mini reboot thing? For me it was kind of the nail in the coffin when it comes to ruining the comfy atmosphere. Everyone is old but acts the same way, Rory is a massive whore and it's played for laughs. At first I thought it was nice to see them again but actually it's just depressing.
>>215607726What they did to her in that Netflix mini series was demonic. They turned her into a libertine sex-in-the-city rip-off, sociopathic buzzfeed writer.
>>215607387>Gilmore Girls>HalloweenShit, I didn't know Jordan Peele posted here
First season is really good but I started watching season 2 and couldn't get into it
>>215608459...which was the style at the time
They should have just ended it with season 5. Lorelai breaking up Luke and getting together with Chris just felt forced and dumb and of course it didn't work out. It also made me think Lorelai was never in love with anyone.
>>215607387Emily did nothing wrong
>>215608470kek
>>215607387Logan > Jess > DeanDean was boring as shit and I refuse to believe anyone who doesn't get wet down there when she sees his handsome face is capable of caring about his character. Jess is also clearly designed to appeal to girls but him seducing Rory was funny to watch, and his relationship with Luke and interactions with Rory after he leaves are great. Logan I genuinely liked in his own right. Maybe it's because the show had less going for it but he was charismatic and cool.
>>215608459>They turned her into a libertine sex-in-the-city rip-off, sociopathic buzzfeed writer. She was already on that trajectory in the original. If anything, I commend them for actually following through with some unpleasant character development in a sequel that was probably conceived as nostalgia bait. The signs were there from season 1 really. We're talking about a dyed in the wool social striver boss girl sociopath here. She just happens to be really cute and have small town mannerisms/quirks.
>>215608398I liked the revival except for how there are black people in almost every shot since some angry black lady complained that the original show was too white
>>215608622It didn't sound like it but I liked it too. It just felt like a depressing coda to an already somewhat depressing turn in the story. and yeah, adding blacks to it does not help in the slightest.
>>215607387>my gf was obsessed with this show and wanted to move to connecticut to live her gilmore girl dream
>>215608721Was she a teenager?
>>215608557They're all archetypes designed to appeal to women. >Dean>All American small town guy who like football and working on cars>Jess>Literature enjoying Holden Caulfield wannabe who wears leather jackets>Logan>Rich sociable prettyboy who doesn't take things to seriouslyI really didn't like Jess, probably from knowing a lot of annoying cunts like him IRL. The stuff with him and Luke was good though. >>215608721Same>>215608747>he doesn't know
>>215608747She was 25. she moved to CT and found out how expensive it was to live in nice areas and moved back.
>>215607523>my gfYawn
I found it odd how many weird opinions the girls had. Like I decided to randomly put on an episode and it's the Harvard road trip one. Why would anyone have a definite opinion about B&Bs? Are they meant to be weird or boring or something? It's just a hotel that serves breakfast.
But is it pronounced "Gilmore" or "Gilmore"?
>>215607726I think the point was to show a real person. Rory was the child of a single mother with issue, and also was a completely spoiled child of privilege. Is it so unbelievable that she would be deeply flawed?I liked that the seed of her downfall was her lack of talent as a journalist. Happens to lots of people - you discover you’re not good at something. A real strength of character arc would be her finding something else, but she persists
>>215608797did she leave you just to move to CT?
>>215609158>A real strength of character arc would be her finding something else, but she persistsyep. It was very relatable to me because I'm also one of those "smart kids". It took me a while to understand what I was lacking, and it's a bit sad that Rory never did.
What a pussy faggot thread
>>215608506WE WERE ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS, IT WAS THE STYLE OF THE TIME
>>215609056It's pronounced as Gillf-more. Long L with an almost silent F. The more is pronounce more or less like a normal more.
>>215607791>hideouscome on she's still cute
3rd year in a row that I said I would have a gf to rewatch this with during fall/winter. Maybe next year bros.
>>215610375yeah haha

>>215609692I didn't name it, a jealous shrew named that picture for her jealous shrew article.
