There are some good elements in it, usually when Fishbourne, Purefoy or Copley are on screen and you can even see some glimpses of actual wit and creativity if you squint hard enough, but it's being dragged down by the usual Hissrich bullshit. The TV factory didn't produce good content, it produced okay content which is only looks good WHEN BINGED compared to the output today.

As predicted, Bonhart Rats slaughter scene is shit and has, rounded up, only 10% of what actually made it so engrossing in book.
But, they clearly tried to do something since they had to put the scene proper at the end of the 8th episode. Too bad, no talent, and Copley can't carry it.
Like, they begin the scene with him coming out in what amounts to underwear with an egg, but instead of him just jumping down and doing the nonchalant slaughter like in the book, he dresses up for some reason, and Rats just wait. So it's some kind of.... Middler?

I kind of liked this season. I think it helped that it was quite simplified for most of the time, you've got Geralt and Co on a fellowship to Nilfgaard, Yennefer going after Vilgefortz because he's a bad guy and Ciri having a completely unrelated side questline. The show has always sucked at articulating the political world building and the high level storytelling, so this season benefited from not having much of that.

And I don't think Liam was too bad, he doesn't have the presence of Cavill but it's not like Cavill sparked eithet

Hollywood does not know what to do with Fantasy. They need to let lore obsessed nerds and gooners take it over and make money for them finally. They have got to stop casting ugly people who look nothing like who they are supposed to be portraying and then defending the decision by saying they were the best suited for the character. Unless the character is supposed to be plain or ugly, they are almost always NOT best suited for the character. I dont care if they are head and shoulders better than the other candidates. A bird can swim, but a fish cannot fly. If you are ugly, you cannot become hot. If you are hot, you can learn how to get on the level of the uggo.
