Or Obnoxious and Unfunny?

yes

Delicate Steve
>>
it worked better as shorter videos, lots of filler on adult swim
>>
>>215609910
I like seeing more chadchuds
>>
I dont dislike it but there's nothing wholesome about it. The entire crux of the joke is steeped in irony

First was good even though the only real funny part was in the first 20 seconds.
Im not blown away but I'd love to see them cook. World needs more funny cartoons, especially this board.
Whenever I ask the Southpark haters what they watch to laugh I get silence.
>>
>>215609910
I thought this was supposed to be the 36 year old guy that looks 17
>>
>>215610356
Watching it with my fiance, when I asked her what she thought she said "the humor has real 'Golden Retriever' vibes to it"... Kind of a perfect description imo.
>>
>>215610681
Good way to describe it. Late 90s vibes.
>>
>faux sincerity and meta irony
It's funny, but it's not actually "wholesome", it's taking the piss out of late 80s/90s family dramas like 7th Heaven.
>>
>>215609930
I like it
>>
>>215610752
You can poke fun and take the piss out of something while still being wholesome. Other than the occasional PG level swear word, the show isn't vulgar or cynical or nihilistic. That shits been done a million times-- like in the TED movies and TV show. "Woah it's a cute talking teddy bear but he smokes weed and drinks and swears! What satire! How intelligent and subversive!".
>>
>>215610894
It's definitely cynical, but the satire isn't as shallow and on-the-nose as the satire we've grown accustomed to (TED is a good example). It's not mean-spirited or anything, but the "wholesomeness" is mostly tongue in cheek.
Thats how I see it, anyway.
>>
>>215609910
this show is openly mocking white people both in appearance and behavior and a race swapped version never would've been greenlit
>>
>>215609910
I get the joke. But the joke outstays its welcome by the 1 minute mark

Yes

non canon
>>

A bit crass
>>
>>215611022
>>215611047
What do you watch to laugh?
>>
>>215611433
its not supposed to be crass its supposed to be fucking scary, fucking video isnt canon anyway
>>
>>215609910
I've liked the episodes so far, still think the shorts were better but it does well in ten minute segments too. I'm interested in the progression of the dad and whether he gets over his wife in any way. Also the red eyes are always funny.
>>
Aaaaaaaaand that's the tea, honey!
>>
>>215610712
Wow it's terrible when young people try to sound like they are wise and seasoned

It has the vibes of mid to late 00's adult swim television.
The shows creators must have been 12-16 during that era
>>
>>215610960

Its wholesome but very characteristic of certain types of white people and their childishness in loving their parents too much. Now of course I don't mean just loving mom and dad, respecting them, believing in work and being a well-raised person. It's that 24 year old who watches a Leslie Nielsen movie and says WOW DAD THEY DON'T MAKE EM LIKE THEY USED TO HUH and then looks at him for approval
>>
>>215611985
its (or the original was at least) a parody sequel to Home Improvement based on how they thought about writing a last season where Tim Allen's character's wife died because the actress left the show (due to abuse from Tim, actually), before they instead decided to cancel it
>>
>>215611985
Yeah, a shitty mid to late 00s Adult Swim cartoon you’d sit through waiting for Metalocalypse or The Boondocks or have on in the background
>>
>>215609971
>chad chud
not a thing in reality
>>
>>215612013
Lol a very specific person annoyed you this way, what a strangely specific example
>>
>>215609971
>they’re chuds because… they’re white
Ah, the fabled /pol/ spic out in the wild
>>
>>215612468
I knew a few people like that, sometimes myself. Oftentimes it is caused by a disability or family trauma that attaches them to the family in a more serious way
>>
>>215612468
Also the example is from the show itself, or at least the youtube shorts
>WE ARE THE THREE AMIGOS!
Leslie Neilson comedies, while actually hilarious, are a perfect example of something kids suck up to boomer parents over. Saturday Night Live is also HUGE for this, which Joe Cappa also made fun of in his Jurassic Park animation
>>
>>215612468
Why dies every other post have to be a gay faggoty psychological evaluation now? Wow, something about his post must have triggered you to illicit such a reaction but hmmm what could it have been oh, we have a plentiful amount of options here! Could it be the fact that he mentioned whites? Perchance… Perchance… there’s too many browns on 4chan for that to be definitive… Or could it be what nobody guessed and that anon used Leslie Nielsen as an example… hmmm I am very smart
>>

Absolutely seething
