What is /tv/'s opinion on 9?
>>215610411Had potential to have a decently wide expansive universe, you can tell that the creators genuinely cared about the film. Still a good standalone movie
>John C. Reilly voices one of the ragdollsWhy?
It was based on a short, which is better than the moviehttps://vimeo.com/37209185
>>215610616This also i think it's underrrated
>>215610411Short is good. Movie is mid as fuck.
>>215610411It was very clear that all the rag dolls were supposed to die. The machine had all the creators intelligence but lacked a soul. The creator makes 9 rag dolls dying as he makes the final comes to life. The machine has an unexplainable drive to consume the dolls. Each time he consumes one he goes through a change. Clearly the 9 dolls were supposed to all be absorbed by the machine thus granting it the creators soul to go with his intelligence. Grant a conscience which would have led the machine to undoing the evil it wrought.Instead the last few dolls kill the machine and magic goes up into the air which makes it rain so plants bloom. It was such a clear rewrite because they did not want to have a movie where the protagonist dies even if it would lead to a good end. So instead they just made it absolutely shit. Just total garbage of an ending
>>215610740He was the only doll that was even slightly convincing
>>215610411>have to watch 8 other movies firstI'll probably never have an opinion
>>215610740Who the FUCK doesn't like John C. Reilly?
10/10 short6/10 movie
>>215610411I wish I could give it a 9, but it's more like an 8.
>>215610411This movie is both forgettable and interesting at the same time.
Feels like a del toro movie
>>215611448you think that's something wait till you look at the last digit of my post number
>>215610411I liked it. There should be more animated films with a grim tone like this.
