Explain how this scene is bad without mentioning the words the Architech uses
>>
it's not bad, it's just a lazy uncinematic exposition dump that could have been delivered in much more creative ways
>>
>>215619046
fpbp
>>
Aside from being a huge exposition dump, I don't like the way these films continually anthropomorphized the matrix, including the Architect and the Oracle. Agent Smith is the permitted exception because of his role and the way the first film shows his contempt for humanity.
>>
>>215619046
What are those more creative ways
>>
>>215618994
Does that include articles? Pretty sure the architect uses the words "a", "an", and "the" - along with "it" and "not" and "of".
Good luck describing anything without those words.

>>
Exposition dumps suck, instead of Neo and the others using clues to figure out the mystery of the Matrix and how there were a bunch of earlier Matrix's in the past, all the info is just dumped on them by one all-knowing character.

It's lazy, boring, uninspired writing.
>>
>>215619195
Showing some of the things he says would be retarded and make an already bloated cliffhanger movie even longer.
>>
>>215619046
Seemed pretty creative to me. The Architect came across as good depiction of a narcissistic computer program with vast power.

Its a room with a bunch of variations of Neo on screens around him while grappling with being a human being at the end of the day against cold unfeeling calculated machinery.
It isnt uncreative at all, really the scene is constructed fine. Concordantly.

After all these years I've come to conclusion that people who doesn't understand a simple movie trilogy like Matrix are, indeed, midwits.
>hurr durr my eXpOsItIoN, ShOw DoN't TeLl
Faggot, I hate exposition dumb as much as the next guy but there is no way out of this scene happening in the Reloaded. You have to completely change the whole trilogy in order to leave this scene out.

Problem is the CHOICE
Neo has to go to the Source WILLINGLY

Machines created a control loop that would force all Neos to chose salvation of Zion by attacking the City

In order to do achieve what they want, he needs to explained about how things works as clear as possible. Hence, exposition dumb.

This scene also serve another purpose in the third movie. But I'm not going to spoonfeed anymore.

It's not bad, it's good.
It's soulless literally, as a computer INTJ mastermind who runs a literal simulation would be.

That's the point.
We call this dynamics, we must pull back dynamics to expand dynamics later.
>>
>>215618994
Ergo, vis a vis, concordantly
>>
everyone is trying to justify why the laziest approach to this problem is le good actually
lots of choice = lots of screens
wow based, every midwit on the street would come up with this as a solution
soulless computer = white room, HOLY SYMBOLISMN BATMAN

The scene itself is whatever, it' just the whole plot in general seemed stupid and they were just trying to find a way to make sequels so they slapped something together.

>>
>>215620676
No, it works perfectly. You're unironically too stupid to get it. But it's ok, most of the audience was too dumb. They just mock and insult the scene to cope with the embarrassment of being too stupid to understand it. All the hints and clues were in the first movie. All of the people Morpheus awakens felt like something was wrong with reality most of their lives. The Oracle is placed there specifically to manage these people getting out and guide them through the machine's plan. They know humans will wake up, and they set up this form of control. They. Do. Not. Want. To. Genocide. Humans. That's the part you idiots just can't get through your head. They want to keep humans around, but humans have to be contained and managed. This is their system for doing it even if it requires a wake up/rebel cycle.
>>
>>215620676
That's how a try-catch block works in computer programs. You anticipate the exception.
>>
>>215619869
>You have to completely change the whole trilogy in order to leave this scene out.
Probably should have changed it, then maybe the third movie wouldn't have been a steaming pile of shit.
>>
>>215620867
The third movie was awesome though. It's still in the top five best trilogies of all time. You have terrible opinions.
>>
>>215620802
I understand it perfectly, retard. That doesn't mean it has to be good screenwriting. Regardless, most people didn't get it the first time and they could've expalined it in a simplier way like the first post said instead of some senile old man rambling on forever and boring the audience. They could've explained it bit by bit as the movie went on to keep the audience engaged better instead of dumping it all at once.
>>
>>215618994
All information in this scene could be conveyed with a kung fu duel where the architect expects to defeat neo with his most recent updates, can't, but as an all powerful entity he can't be defeated either. He's preoccupied with fixing the error not with neo himself. Kung fu is the path and not taking it derailed these movies.
>>
>>215620696
Justin killed a baby.
>>
It serves no purpose in the story.

What was the Martix Reloaded about? Zion is going to be destroyed by the machines, and Smith breaks into the real world to kill Neo. The Architect tells Neo the machines are going to destroy Zion, something he already knows, and that if he doesnt, Trinity will die, which is only going to happen because Neo went to the Architect to be told something he already knows, so it's completely useless. I have no idea why Morpheus thought getting to the Architect would win the war.

And you can argue Neo learns that he isnt the one and that there were several others, and that Zion was destroyed several times before, but this is all lore and has nothing to do with the story or characters. You could remove all this info and the story wouldnt change at all. Because in the next film we get the battle for Zion that was promised in the very first fucking scene of Reloaded.

And you could argue this scene is about free will vs destiny, and whether or not Neo's actions change anything, except we already had that conversation several times with the Oracle, so this scene doesnt even have a thematic purpose.

I was going to remark on the seemingly endless horde of fedora filmmaking students from the 00s time travelling to this thread when in actuality I forgot how many trannies lurk here. Vis a vis. The sequels suck get over it.

But the whole movie is about him reaching that point, the source, and talking with the architect to then make the choice.

>>215618994
Matrix is an efficient and entertaining pastiche. Matrix 1 works well on itself. The other films didn't need to exist, they contradict themselves in several points and seem to be written as it goes, not knowing what's next. Two nerds interested in making a cool movie were capable to do so. Two menchildren with inflated egos and deep pockets are now fucking up with partying hard and trooning themselves.

He honestly seems kike a placeholder character. Like they didn't want to rehash agents again so made him to be the one holding the keymaker. He does nothing in either movie and is just there to be a dick to neo.

>getting to the Architect

Morpheus didn't know the Architect was there, he was interested in gaining access to the source so they could destroy it and all the machines apparently
