What's the first R-rated film you're going to allow your son to watch?
>>
>>215626621
Will be determined by his taste. Would like it if it was the Godfather but who knows what he will actually like when he's old enough? My mother let me watch Robocop when I was like 10. I remember watching it with her as an adult and she kept saying stuff like "how did I let you watch this?" or "I must be an awful mother" during every moment of ultra violence.

Irreversible

Can we all agree that Juliette Lewis looks like an angry potato?

The amount of jewish producers that have cum in her since she was a child she might as well be. In this Weinstein movie she plays a child who is being sexually harassed by the writer of the movie Tarantino.

I want to hold a girl's hand and hold eye contact while she takes a shit. It would be so beautiful and intimate

>and she kept saying stuff like "how did I let you watch this?" or "I must be an awful mother" during every moment of ultra violence.

"Ultra violence" in movies never really bothered my parents (or, I think, almost anyone in the surrounding society) in terms of whether it's appropriate for kids to watch. I mean, I don't doubt that they would object to some of the "heavier" movies that feature violence (the more gritty ones, the ones that show some mob stuff or similar), but any action movie I can think of was fine or "would be" fine. Yeah Bruce Willis shoots a guy and you can see blood come out of his chest... or maybe even some over-the-top gore happens in some horror film... so what, it's all lighthearted, incredibly obviously performative, etc etc. Action movies are virtually never a commentary on how murder is terrible.

I mean, there was a time when I was 4 and walked in on my grandparents watching some war movie, and someone was killed with a bayonet, and even in this context I was simply impressed that an actor was killed for making a movie. The grandparents laughed and explained to me that it's all play-pretend. I was like "oh, I see". And that was the end of it.

Now, on the other hand, nudity / sex was a much more touchy subject, and I remember that parents forbid me to watch the Stallone / Sharon Stone movie (The Specialist, I think?) that they had on VHS.

Also, "heavy" dramas that explore bad shit in life were seen as not for kids, but I'd say this is more in the sense that such a movie would fly over a child's head anyway.

... also, I remember that my mother thought that 2 Fast 2 Furious was too scandalous for the then-11-year-old me, but my father laughed and let me watch it.

Probably something like Predator or Commando. Classic popcorn fun and I figure they're the least likely things I'd get a ton of shit from the wife for letting him watch. Could be a fun 10th birthday rite of passage for him.

He already watched IT which I think was R-rated when he was like 8 but now he’s 12 and he’s really really into Sydney Sweeney and Scarlett Johansson and I’ve caught him watching Anyone But You on my home media server a few times
I took him to American eagle to get some slacks the other day and he was just gobsmacked by the Sweeney posters
I can’t speak for all gen alphas but my 12 year old is really into her

She always looked masculine and old to me, even in her roles when she was young. Quite literally never saw the appeal when you had Jennifer Connelly who was pretty much the same age and starring in movies around that time looking way better than her.

My son is 3, we already watched cartoon sex education. Americans would rather their kids murder people in GTA than find out about sex, lol

Robocop is savage. The scene where they shoot Murphy multiple times, including shotgunning his hand into mist. Not appropriate for children

I think it would be this probably around age 9 or 10. Specifically on a projector as well. But I will probably never have a son to watch kinos with so I will probably just an hero.

Excellent choice. Grindhouse is a pair of excellent directors as their 8yo boy selves playing on the floor with their toys, smashing them up & laughing their assets off having fun.
