How realistic is this movie?
>>
>>215627902
back when i was in an alcoholic depression my stomach was so fucked i couldnt eat anything unless i was drunk. But drinking made me puke if i wasnt already drunk. Siting in a hot shower was the only thing that would calm my stomach down so id sit there in the shower with a drink just outside. I would take a sip or two and just sit there while my stomach tried to process it and eventually go for some more sips until i had enough booze in my system to function.
bad times.
anywho, yeah kind of accurate

I'm 30 and I never drank once in my life. Should I start? What am I in for?
>>
>>215628356
Three things can happen
A: You drink, go meh, and don't drink again
B: You drink and like it, so you start drinking, which is going to be somewhat bad for you and you'll probably get a gut
C: You become an alcoholic
It's one thing to start when you're a teenager and a retard, but why would you purposefully go down that path? Start smoking too while you're at it.
>>
>>215628538
Or you can be a responsible adult like me and drink a high quality dram of scotch once or twice a month
>>
>>215629246

Without alcohol I would have never experienced a lot of my best memories and times with friends. Drinking is fun and an outlet for most people to lose their inhibitions and experience life. Fun, romance and meeting new people. Sitting down with your friends to talk and joke. You should try it
>>
>>215629397
This is the correct take. Eat, drink, and be merry. Life is here to be lived and enjoyed, especially when you're young. The amazing experiences I had thanks to drinking, losing inhibition, and being courageous in action as a result has given me an amazingly cool youth to look back on.
>>215628538
Or 4. They'll drink like a normal person and have a lot of fun. If you have such a reaction to alcohol don't drink it, but there are upsides and social benefits to drinking. You don't sound very fun.

I just drink it straight like an animal or a very small child... Will try! I see it's available at the comptoir irlandais
>>
>>215628356
it is worth trying alcoholic drinks just to experience different flavours and no, non-alcoholic drinks never compare favourably and are not substitutes. Alcohol itself is another type of flavour that compliments different foods and drink and it is worth trying it just the same as it is worth trying different foods. Just don't let alcohol become a substitute for a deficiency in your life like social anxiety or energy.
>>
>>215629713
I never drink it straight, but whenever I take a vacation I'll start my morning with a nice irish coffee.
A little five farms in there, dab of honey, and sprinkle some cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg on top. Maybe if I'm feeling like a fancy bitch, a bit of whipped cream on top.

>dream of getting drunk one night
>wake with the urge to drink back full force
>pass the day trying to think about anything but starting to drink again
>fucking urge last more than 2 weeks
I thought I was done with this bullshit. Alcoholism is one hell of a drug. It's never fucking over. Constant struggle. My granddad was an alcoholic, he stopped drinking in his 40s and when hi mind tarted to go a little when in his 80s he started to drink again because he couldn't resist the urges anymore. He ended up drinking almost all day long everyday and passing out at the end of the day in a drunk stupor.
With my luck and my genes that will happen to me too.

If you drink coffee at all, especially if you don't eat breakfast usually, try using heavy cream (not half and half, not whole milk, the shit you use to make fresh home-made whipped cream from).
You really don't need more than a few drips. Its amazing how much thicker and richer it makes your coffee. There is also just enough fat and protein in the cream that it gives your guts something to work on.
Its also delicious.
I used to put some cream into my travel mug while I made the coffee, then shook the shit out of it so the cream would froth up, then I'd pour a little coffee in so it splashed into the cream and half-ass steam it, then pour the rest of the coffee in down the side of the mug so the foamy bits rise to the top, and the coffee mixes with the liquid cream.
I called it a bullcrapachino.
Seriously though, heavy cream, next time you're at the store buy a half-pint. Also now when you're cooking something, and you need to add milk, just use a quarter or half as much heavy cream.
>>
>>215628051
The trick is to mix the alcohol with water. Helps not upset your stomach so much and keeps you hydrated. 2 shots in a big glass of water works well but if you really need it then 3 works.

T.current alcoholic. My stomach was fucked up for a while but I started forcing myself to eat and only drink with food in my stomach and now the problems went away

You should start drinking a half pint of vodka every night, then after two weeks, move to a pint. Then after three weeks, move on to a fifth of vodka a day, drinking from the moment you wake to the final drop is finished as you get cozy in bed. That's pretty much it. Enjoy!

>Everyone says don't touch alcohol, it can ruin your life, just one sip
>have been drinking on-again and off-again for approximately 6 years, whenever I feel like it, and have never gotten blackout drunk, while drinking whisky, rum, and malt liquor

>people say never start smoking, it'll ruin your life and give you cancer, and you'll instantly get addicted from just one puff
>been smoking cigars on-again off-again for 8 years, whenever I feel like it

I'm not sure if this whole thing is just some agenda to control people's lives, or if people in general just have no idea how to recognize when something is literally destroying their life and body. Neither one I got addicted two, but I enjoy them occasionally. The only thing you could reasonably say I was "addicted" to was red bull, but when I started getting palpitations, I stopped, and didn't have any vomiting, itching, shiver withdrawals. I'm beginning to think addiction is just a psy-op by christcucks.

Many hollywood alcoholism movies have the same flaw which is the alcoholic has a loyal attractive girlfriend by his side. This is true of 'The lost weekend' and 'Days of wine and roses' and 'Leaving Los Vegas'. In real life end stage alcoholics are bitter and disagreeable and everybody who knows them abandons them at the end. In real life attractive females are the first to abandon a sinking ship to sell their goods elsewhere.

Na dude. Literally every liquor can be drank straight with a few ice cubes to dilute it over time or even without the ice.
That's what drinking a liquor "straight" means. If it's diluted in an entire glass of water that just makes it even easier to drink. Whiskey or tequila in particular aren't bad at all mixed with water, they have a nice interesting flavor.

Alcohol isn't very addictive really, I've been on and off again for like 20 years and there were times when I was drinking twice a week and times when I didn't drink for years.
Smoking is super addictive though, and very hard to quit. But cigars don't really count because they're always a special occasion. Just like you can't be an alcoholic by drinking champagne

Its a genetic thing. Nobody in my family ever smoked even my grandparents back when a majority of adults smoked. I tried smoking when I was young and just found nicotine boring and never felt a craving for cigarettes. But I did feel cravings for alcohol and liked drinking.

Save habitual alcohol and drug use for your old age (like mid 80s) for when everything hurts and everything sucks. Alcohol should ONLY be for very special occasions like extreme stress. Don’t party with it. Basically, treat it like a benzo….like keep an emergency bottle of bourbon on hand in case you NEED a shot or two. If alcohol was discovered today it would be a Schedule 1 or 2.

Also, unless you’re getting DTs, you can absolutely stop drinking TODAY. Few other drugs are like that. You’re going to get urges…okay, and? Quitting sucks; having cravings sucks; life is supposed to suck. You’re drinking and smoking to quench an addiction that you’re maintaining by drinking and smoking. Stop it.
>>

>You're basically describing the entire island of Ireland.

>Alcohol isn't very addictive really, I've been on and off again for like 20 years and there were times when I was drinking twice a week and times when I didn't drink for years.
lol. "twice a week." Drink 10-15 drinks, preferably liquor, for 3-4 months, and then tell us whether you're addicted.
>>
>>215636810
>Also, unless you’re getting DTs, you can absolutely stop drinking TODAY. Few other drugs are like that. You’re going to get urges…okay, and
The other stuff you said is mostly correct, but stopping drinking if you are going to have any withdrawal at all is terrible, as bad or worse than any other drug.
>>
>>215633011
I used to smoke on parties when someone would offer it to me, like one cigarette every 2-3 months. I think the last one was about 5 years ago and I don't feel the need to get another one. I think some people just don't get addicted to nicotine.
