>4x scopes on MP5s
that seams like such a weird choice when you consider the armorer for SG1 was autistic
>bought a bunch of P90s without telling anyone because he thought they would make more sense in lore due to better penetrating power

mp5s are accurate up to 400meters though. and all of SG is navy, which train up to 100m iron sights... soooo
>>

>mp5s are accurate up to 400meters though.
9mm has a pretty extreme drop. the mp5 manual says they are factory zeroed at 25 meters and should be on again at 100 meters, I saw a vid and the guy was maybe 2 inches low at 100 meters, hard to tell. he was like 24 inches low at 200 meters and 10 feet low at 300 meters. I'd think they would have a hard time using them past 200 meters at the absolute max. no idea what the manufacturer suggested zero is for the p90, I can't find the correct manual
>and all of SG is navy,
they're airforce.
>>
>>215628225
What’s the parallax for 9mm out of that barrel length?
In the army we would zero our M4s at 25m, and it parallaxed at 300m.
I can’t imagine 9mm shooting very flat out of a subgun. I think their armourer is probably a retarded autist hyper fixated on unrealistic fantasy (like the fags on /k/).
Why not just use a rifle?
>>
Wow are you guys like special forces or something?
>>
>>215628139
>mp5s are accurate up to 400meters though.
Nope.
>>
>>215629078
that's not what parallax means but yeah according to HK a 25/100 meter zero on an mp5 is the same as a 25/300 meter zero on an M4. I saw a vid of a guy doing it so I don't think HK is lying. and IDK, I think they used mp5s because the film used MP5 and the film used them because muh special forces in the early 90s. it's the same as hunk using an mp5 in resident evil even though if those scenes were done today he would have used a piston AR

My favorite part in SG-1 was when they shot a pair of guided missiles through the gate.
>>
>>215629311
didn't they do that more than once?
>>
>>215629311
I feel like you could easily drive bikes through the stargate. introduce that carter drives a bike, have teal c driving one, daniel on jacks bike in the bitch seat.

Kick start my heart playing as you see them do a wheelie through the gate.

Sir, What we need is speed. How about dirt bikes? Dirt bikes, that's what we need general.

>bought a bunch of P90s without telling anyone because he thought they would make more sense in lore due to better penetrating power
P90 is effective up to about 200m if you're experienced with it and was designed with AP ammo in mind, while also being quite compact and high-capacity, so yeah as far as general-use it makes a lot of sense as the primary weapon for field teams going through the Stargate

The 4x on the MP5 is indeed an odd choice though
>>
>>215631391
I think you might be able to shoot them further, the 200 meter number is based off of FN saying they still penetrate russian vests at 200 meters. idk what the zero is. the 9 holes review guy shot a P90 out to 450 meters but he said the accuracy fell apart at 250 m which sounds like it drops from supersonic to subsonic at that point.
I wonder what the "max effective range" of an MP5 technically is because the guy said it was effective when he was shooting like 2 feet low at 200 yards.
it's like when you try to google the effective range of an M4 and it says 500 meters and hitting a single dude at 500 meters even with an acog would be kind of hard if he was doing anything other than just standing up and still
>>
>>215631391
>>215631577
oh I also want to say 4x does seem like a lot if you are maxing out at like 150 meters, though I guess it would help for dudes hiding behind cover like how an acog is better than a red dot out past 50 meters

>>215631577
>>215631602
You also don't need to be super accurate if your goal is suppressive fire
That said, suppressive fire isn't really a tactic any of the SG teams use since the Jaffa don't really have self-preservation in their training (likely intended by the GOOLD)

what you want is the 45 auto and then run up to them and vats

That exact model MP5 is my fetish gun. I know it's the MP5A3 with built-in flashlight specifically because I jerk off to it regularly.

I also feel the same way about the Kimber SWAT Custom .45, Heckler & Koch SL8, M16A3 With the attached M203 grenade launcher, and the Spectre M4.

These are my gunfu's. There are many like them but these ones are mine.

>>215631391
The lack of modability to the P90 would be its death knell in a realistic military scenario, You'd want something you could attach silencers, grenade launchers, flash lights, laser sights, and even bayonets to, making the P90, in fact, NOT a great choice. The MP5 actually makes sense. Has a lot of advantages over the P90. HK416 would probably be the primary standard issue weapon, instead of using a PDW like the MP5 or P90 though.
>>
>>215633206
you know you can buy one right? HK and PTR both sell semi auto clones. the only difference would be the trigger pack

thank fuck neil degassi tyson only cares about the moon and galaxies and isn't also complaining about guns in movies
>>
>>215633486
Right now I don't have the money to justify a 2,000$ purchase ATM. I would love nothing more than to go out and buy clones/civilian variants of all of these, but I don't have the job to make guns my hobby, despite having a couple. I'm happy shooting them in video games as it is though.

Well yeah if you had a unlimited black budget supernatural military operation going on in the early 2000s, wouldn't you also want the expensive high end exotic weapons with advanced technology for making them better suited for individuals while also increasing armor penetration power, mm?
